Amazing! I didn't know what to expect from the hotel or the location. What a great surprise. The Lake District, the Village of Grasmere and the Waterside hotel were great!. Everything was excellent. I was there with my girlfriend and happy to stay there again. Special thanks to manager of the hotel. He was absolutely friendly and cares about us (he recommended to take hotel umbrella because rain could be later and he organized wonderful mini bus tour for us to the lakes). Breakfast also excellent (you could order classic English, continental breakfast and even salmon), wi-fi, TV provided but not so interesting because nature outside is very beautiful.

We have stayed in many bed and breakfasts over the years. This was the best we have ever stayed in. The accommodation was of an extremely high standard. The hosts, Dave and Brenda, could not have been more welcoming and helpful. They have clearly worked very hard indeed to create a superb experience for guests. The staff and owners were friendly and helpful; they knew the area well and gave good information re days out/eating out/entertainment etc.
The breakfast was very good and the standard was consistent all through our 10 night stay. The bed was very comfortable and the ensuite was of a good standard.
Overall it was a very nice place to stay particulary as 16 appears to be the maximum number of guests. The staff and owners could give everyone good service as well as finding time to talk to all

Midweek rates in November were very good. Conveniently located hotel near the centre with plenty of off-street parking, which a lot of places in Ambleside do not have. The bedroom was not large but adequate, the kingsize bed being comfortable. Large bathroom with spa bath. Cold buffet breakfast was extensive and very good. Pleasant helpful efficient staff.
