  Fantastic few days in the peak district made perfect by our stay in the innkeepers lodge. The staff went over and above to make our stay special. Ali, the housekeeper, gave me a lift back to my car after a walking adventure with the grandchildren. Staff appeared really interested in our plans and were really friendly.   Very friendly check-in. Youth hostel looks very smart, toilet and shower in our room were spotlessly clean and looked quite new. Room M8 in the mews was quiet and stayed nicely cool thanks to shade from the trees outside. We liked the courtyard outside the mews with benches/tables. Beds were OK. Breakfast was lots better than expected at only £5 p... ce que les gens disent » er person with choice of three juices, cereal, full cooked breakfast, fresh rolls, cheese (!!!), yoghurt, fruit etc. Nice outdoor sitting area outside - It was a pleasure to stay at this former manor house. It was particularly interesting to live in the original part of the house, where it made one feel a little bit like in older days. The hostel has a big, well equipped kitchen and a nice small library. The location is very convenient – around 10min walk to Castleton, 25min to Hope and the surrounding park is beautiful. There are also special attractions for the kids in the park, which makes it a good destination for families.

  Booked for two nights the night before our arrival and we were extremely lucky to book the last double room available and one with a spectacular view too. Who could grumble to stepping out the shower to a view of Win Hill, endless sheep and the odd cow. The staff were lovely and the duty manager was extremely patient with me asking endless questio... ce que les gens disent » ns and advice about local walks. My hubby enjoyed a massage soon after arrival while I sampled a brief trial hike up Lose Hill. We then met in the hot - Everything. Splendid staff, friendly, helpful, intelligent and very professional. Wondeful bucolic setting. Excellent food, complex and tasty but never OTT. Jolly good wine list. Clean rooms with lovely views and really comfortable beds. Good pool.
