  I stayed there the night before taking an early morning flight from Stansted and the night after I arrived back in Stansted after midnight.   We were on a National Trust property tour and this was an ideal stop off point to visit three in that area. Very friendly helpful staff. Very pleasant chalet type rooms. Super food and beer! Also close to visit Cambridge.   We stayed in a family room in the annexe, next-door to the main lodge - very warm & clean. It was great to park our car right beside our bedroom window & have our dog stay. The en-suite 'rain-shower' gave out plenty of hot water, any time of day. Complimentary toiletries & spotless white towels were much appreciated. We chose cooked full-english, toast & hot drinks served in the immaculate, yet cosy dining room.
