  We were really surprised at the standard of accommodation we were offered for our £52. We were upgraded on arrival to a sea view room which was lovely and very comfortable. The breakfast, included in the price, was absolutely delicious and the waitress gave my boyfriend an extra breakfast because he couldn't decide what to have! We had a comfortable and well decorated room in which to relax; loved the squashy leather settees and thoroughly enjoyed eating in the bar area as the staff were so efficient and friendly. The chef is a star - we ate on both nights of our stay, and both meals were a delight. Would highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay again.

  Nothing had quite prepared us for the treat in store when we booked this short break. The design, decor and ambience of 'Bleak House' is unique. The owners have succeeded in keeping the sense of history and Victorian atmosphere and combining it with the high standards expected by today's visitors. We - Every single member of staff was so friendly and welcoming. The service was faultless insomuch that they could not do enough for you to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The house is beautifully decorated, fantastic outlook across the lawns and the bay, clean, comfortable bed, welcoming glass of sherry, slippers even. It is not surprising that Dickens loved staying here. We had a very memorable time and would like to thank all staff concerned. Would definitely recommend.

  Amazi ping staff, friendly yet professional and made us feel so welcome and provided us a super service! Breakfast was WOW! Was lovely at the end of a beach da - On arrival we were given tea and chocolate biscuits in the breakfast room by the friendly and gregarious host. The room was comfortable and well appointed with a beautiful and spacious bathroom. The breakfast on offer was excellent with fruit yoghurt and granola, warm brioche, superb scrambled eggs and smoked salmon plus toast and chunky marmalade. It kept us going all day! Parking in the road opposite was easy and free.

  I could not fault this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms clean and comfortable. The food was great - order Inadian and you will not be disappointed. Excellent value for money, ten out of ten ! - we only stayed one night, but that was enough to know that we would stay again. Maybe for longer next time.

  They create a wonderful environment at this hotel. Lots of little extras that are wonderful and make you feel at home. We were there in the off season and there were hot water bottles in the bed at night, both practical and cosy. An honor bar, records to play and just a lovely environment. It's not totally quiet, you can hear your neighbors a bit, ... ce que les gens disent » but it's absolutely lovely and I would not hesitate to stay there again and in fact plan to for a nice quiet couple of days get away. - This is a small, independently owned and run boutique hotel. The owner was always on hand but never intrusive. The whole experience could be decsribed as staying in a private home. We loved the log burning fires, LPs and record player, cheese , biscuits and other treats laid out in the evening for guests consumption. The breakfasts are pretty good too. We plan to return.
