The location is brilliant. Rooms are clean, and good value for money. I can recommend this hostal to anyone who would like to explore the city because everything are close in the vacinity. The bathroom and room are tiny,but for the five nights we stayed, it was sufficient. Fridge, hair dryer, clean linen and towels plus amenities everyday.

The rooms were very clean, WiFi was very fast and consistent. The hostel is a minute's walk from Puerta del Sol - the liveliest area of the city, and 10 minutes walk from Plaza Mayor and Gran Via. The receptionist was helpful, and recommended nearby places of interest.

Séjour parfait. hotel situé à 100 mètres de la puerta del sol et facilement accésible en métro. Hotel très propre - exellent personnel et petit déjeuner suffisant pour les 5 euros payés en plus. - L'emplacement est vraiment idéal ! Juste au centre ! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room had been newly renovated and was kept extremely clean. There were two sets of double paned windows to keep out the street noise. The Museo del Jamon was right next to the hotel and is a great place to get breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee or beer/wine. We would definitely return.

I had a great stay in hostal Veracruz! The single room was good and very comfortable. Everything was also very clean and the staff was friendly. This is a fantastic place to stay when you need to move through the city and don't want to miss the ambiance of Madrid city centre!

We loved the cleanliness of the Hostal. We also enjoyed the excellent
location and walking distance to historical sites and museums. Our
host, Luisa was excellent, helpful and very friendly. She was there to
greet us and allowed us to come back for an extra day after our train
to Paris was cancelled. Her brother was also very helpful and friendly.

We would come back to the same Hostal without hesitation next time we
visit Madrid. -
Loved the location, Hostal Mayor was close to major attractions such as
Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. It was also very near the underground.
Shower had great pressure and the rooms were very clean. In addition to
this the view from the balcony was also great. Over all a nice
comfortable place to stay, we enjoyed it and would recommend to others
