  Not an ultramodern hotel but rather a well maintained hotel with a more genteel feel. The rooms were nicely sized, comfortable bed and kept spotless by the staff. The rooms were well soundproofed so you had no extraneous noise from other rooms. The restaurant was pleasant and the food well above average. The hotel is quite well placed in a slightly quieter part of town next to the parliament buildings but only a 10 minute strol - Staff eager to help us as we arrived early were leaving late and had to leave luggage at hotel. We were upgraded to double rooms with views of Table Top. A cheap taxi ride or walk from all the major city sites. Excellent breakfast included. Rooms spacious with all facilities. Compared with our hotel in Rio on the same trip and for the same price Townhouse was streets ahead. Can't wait to go back to Cape Town and when I do there's only one place I'll be staying - The Townhouse.

  I was there for a conference and everything was excellent: the room was comfortable and quite large, the linen very good, the food at the conference was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.   We liked the friendliness of the staff.   Blackheath Lodge provides a warm and comfortable atmosphere akin to being at home! It is pleasantly designed around a small, but extremely well cared for and pretty pool area. The lodge has a hire car available. The rooms are attractive and very clean. W - This was a delightful place to stay in a lovely tastefully furnished Victorian Lodge. We were made very welcome and nothing was too much to ask during our 4 day stay. The rooms were very comfortable with an excellent shower. Thank you to all the team that work there for making our stay so enjoyable!
