A brand new hotel so everything was clean and fresh. Good location within walking distance to "everything". Reasonable price. Comfortable bed exept for the size of it. Due to heavy partying in neighbouring rooms during our stay we reccomended change of room. This was taken care of immediately. Very friendly staff – relaxed, approachable and helpful. cosy atmosphere, very good quality for the price of a budget hotel (in Norway..) free wi-fi with reasonably good coverage in lobby, corridors and rooms. practical lounge and decent breakfast for 85NOK Thanks and keep it this way!.
tous commentaires » I am very thankful to the hotel stuff for their help and assistance. I guess I never experience such hospitality as in Smarthotel. You definitely feel yourself welcome. Breakfast is great and costs 85 NOK, which is not that expensive if you check the prices in the town. The hotel location was near the shopping area, bus station and in safe surroundings. Especially good was the free luggage deposit facility after check out. Very comfortable cosy rooms and ever ready to help, friendly staff. The reception was open 24 hours. The staff was very friendly. In fact, I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel stay almost made up for the fact I could not see the fjords because ferries don't operate on public holidays and the cloud cover obscured the midnight sun. Very good prices for a Norwegian hotel. Everything was new. Breakfast was good. Location was optimal to the city centre and walking street. The idea of self-service for buying the breakfast and check-in was nice... Front desk staff were excellent very customer oriented as was the young man handling the desk the following morning. My sincere thanks to them both. I will return to the Smarthotel soon. The location was awesome, and the staff also. The hotel itself was tidy and nice. The bed is comfy and after we realised to turn on the heating, we didn't feel that cold in the room :D. New, simple, clean, cheap and central. Everything you need if you go visit Tromsø. I guess the only thing one can complain is the size of the room and lack of shelves. My clothes were partly hanging on the wall and partly laid on the floor. If you are not limited in money, take a bigger room, which is not much more expensive. Felt like the room should have some wardrobe facility if the intended stay is for more than 2 nights. We stayed a night so that was not a problem. ...but it didn't work very well yet. Expensive public parking right next to the hotel, maybe cheaper in the tunnel parking. There is NOTHING to complain about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Maybe the room is too small for two adults staying there for more than one night. The hotel is quite obviously for business men travelling with laptops.. Also the lack of Do not disturb- signs for the doors was imminent. We also missed some storage space in the room, no shelves, no closets. Nothing to complain. Light in bathroom could be more female friendly for make up etc. magnifying mirror. The tiles in the bathroom could not be adjusted. All good! :). very small rooms. Double bed is very small. Not much. Breakfast served but cost ten euros. No refrig in room. No phone to call reception. Very noisy during the night as popular with young people who were attending a 3 day music festival. Room for two persons with one bed is very very small. There is no wardrobe in the room. The room is no place for luggage even. No Russian channe on TV. The bed was designed to fit in a small room so touches the wall on 3 sides (in room 319). A bit spartan, but you get what your pay for it, and it was very fair for the price, I book it again. Nowhere to put the suitcase so the room got easy untidy. breakfast. small rooms. Very small size rooms. Cramped. too small a room. The internet connection was slow, sometimes working and sometimes not working. This is very bad if you need to work online e.g. in the evening. The TV connections were also bad with some stations not working due to a bad atennna on the roof. Anyway that is what the staf told me. Dreadful with the black wall colour in a already very small and dark room. You should be allowed to pay with cash in the reception, since Norwegian krones is a valid object in Norway. Too small breakfast area, with a fully booked hotel. Tiny rooms. The so-called double room was so tiny that we had to stand on the bed in order to close the curtain. There was no cupboard - merely not very good hooks on a concrete wall. I guess that this is what a prison cell must feel like.
