  This was one of the highlights of our Trip around Norway. Relaxed hospitality as it should be. Excellent local produce, no choice and yet the meal was enjoyed by all 12 dinner guests. Hikers are encouraged to make their packed lunch from the breakfast buffet. Beautiful bright and clean rooms in a charming set of farm buildings. The rooms are modern comfortable and well maintained. The food we had was delicious and well presented. We asked for advice on hiking routes and he was very enthusiastic and informative. Our stay at Nes Gard was one of the highlights of our holiday

  The best thing was the room, we liked everything: the bed, the bed-linen, the bathroom, the design. The food was very delicious. The staff was helpful and friendly.   Flam is a very beautiful place at the bottom of a fjord, and shouldn't be missed. The hotel is 2 minutes from the train overlooking the fjord. Staff were outstanding, very friendly, welcoming and offering advice on walks in the local area. Facilities were very good. It was winter so not many tourists-which we loved!   The view of this hotel is very good, a great lake view. We rent an apartment, it's spacious. The small balcony is good for chat and drinks to view such a great lake. It's easy accessible to the main pier and the supermarket nearby. Flåm is a small town, we stayed for 3D2N, one day we took bus to Aurland for hiking, it's convenient. It's good. - The view from our deck was amazing, probably better than the view from the hotels that are nearer to the reail station and port. The room was pretty big, and had all the facilities needed to cook and eat. For those who do not cook, there is a bar/restaurant on the basement that offers basic meals at fair prices.

  The position, just on the small port of Kalvag with a beautiful view on the sea. The rooms were both spacious, bright and clean. Breakfast, served in the restaraunt (wich is quite elegant inside), was good and abundant. We had even diner at the restaurant: not cheap but the food was good; tasty even the beer locally brewed.   Location - amazing. Dinners were excellent despite being a set menu. Reception and waiting staff very friendly and helpful. The free bike and rowing boat hire were a real bonus.

  We had an excellent large room with two panoramic windows and fjord view. The location is very convenient- just few meters from the ferry terminal (but still silent!) and very close to Balestrand. The selection of food at breakfast might be wider, but it's typical for Norway, yet the quality was perfect. Very delicious fish at dinner. It is also a good base for lots of walks. We had the 3 course dinner at the hotels restaurant which was yummy but the best was the wonderful view while eating dinner.   This place was amazing. While simple in set up it had all we needed! The cabin was on the end and overlooked the water. We could watch the ferry boats come to shore from our window. It was so relaxing. The staff was fabulous, they lent us a hair dryer, and for a small fee we rented our sheets and towels. There were two small markets conveniet - I booked the Vangsgaarden Gjestgiveri as an overnight break in our Norway in a Nutshell tour not really knowing what to expect. It turned out to be a charming little hotel with beautifully appointed common areas and an accommodating staff. Their complimentary breakfast was terrific, as was its location, a historic little house a few yards from the hotel. All considered, we thought it was a real bargain. As a side note, one of the reviewers wrote they turned down the option to stay in a ‘horribl
