  We had a 1 month trip around Japan :- Tokyo(Asakusa), Tokyo(Yokahama), a cruise, KYOTO, Hiroshima, Osaka & back via Helsinki. Throughout Japan we were impressed by the politeness, friendliness & cleanliness & we are sure all hotels at all levels meet the same standards. Kyoto is the old capital of Japan. Metro station to the city centre & Old - This was one of the best hotels we stayed in Japan. The location was very easy, we just took the subway to reach Kokusaikaikan and the directions on the subway took us directly to the hotel. It was a very comfortable and nice room, with free internet. The buffet downstairs was very good for dinner and the surrounding environment was very nice and green. As my older daughter was in the room one day, they didn' t have oppurtinity to clean the room, so they presented us 500 JPY gift check for it.

  I stayed at Kyoto Tower Hotel for two nights during May. The greatest thing about this hotel is that it's very near to kyoto station and bus stop. So it's really easy for travellers to buy a one-day bus sight-seeing ticket to tour around all kyoto sights in convenience. And with JR pass, it's easy to travel to Nara and Osaka via railway. The building - - Very central location, Subway station right in front of the door - Staff extremely friendly and polite, even helped us to communicate with people at a store nearby - Well structured rooms, we had enough space to leave two big bags open on the floor - Bed not as small as expected, it was big enough for a 1,92m man - Breakfast was good - Free entrance for Kyoto Tower - Wifi in the lobby

The location is ideal and very lovely, in the middle of the Gion district, with easy access to many key sites, as well as restaurants and shopping. This excellent ryokan is run by a Japanese family, who are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel. - The location is superb for a taste of real Kyoto. Beautiful streets full of temples around. We were in a two-room (suite) japanese room with bathrooom during Gion Matsuri so that price was high but reasonable. This is a family Ryokan and hence lacks services. The dedication and desire to please of the family that runs the hotel highly compensates. I would certainly like to return.
