1) The staff couldn't do enough for you 2) The rooms were clean and cosy 3) The food was delicious (Breakfast and evening meal) 4) The bar had a really nice friendly atmosphere and it was somewhere that you could sit and feel relaxed 5) I couldnt fault a thing about this hotel. Good setting in Sheffield, close to and a quick taxi ride from the main city centre. Rooms were well equipped and comfortable. In a pub/restaurant which was homely and served nice food. Breakfast was lovely and all round good value for money.

The 2 for 1 large Pizza offer is brilliant and the desserts are to die for!. Great location just off Ecclesall Road and only a couple of minutes in a taxi to city centre. We were pleased to find a comfortable place to stay for the one night we needed before joining our holiday party, which had good selection of food. It was easy to find on arrival in Sheffield and very close to where I had a lunchen engagement. The early check-in was much appreciated. Very friendly staff and very comfortable surroundings. It was all simple and straight forward, our daughter who lives locally was able to join us for breakfast with no hassle. A good friendly "pub with rooms" Not a POSH hotel to impress anyone, but good value, a nice venue and super breakfast. The staff were very efficient and fit climbing up and down stairs to fetch the food from the kitchen. Friendly staff and easy check in. Food at the pub is great and breakfast included is perfect!. Staff very friendly and helpful. Substantial breakfast included in price which is not always the case nowdays. Later breakfast and departure time at weekend. One young female with spiky hair. She was charming, polite and very helpful. The location was handy. The breakfast was good. Atmosphere / Food. Our room was one of the particularly small ones and if we were staying more than one or two nights would have been too cramped. Rooms could do with a little redecorating, but we felt really at home with our two small ones in the family room!. Car park was full because there was a gig in the pub, so we had to park a street away. Luckily it is a nice area so was not worried, but weather wasn't great so got wet. Net curtains in bedroom (6) were filthy - have they ever been washed? Other than that, difficult to fault at the price!. nothing. Only point was the dated fittings in the rooms. The wind was blowing hard and whistled loudly, but there is probably nothing anyone can do about that!. lots of steps. A bit dated now. The stairs were quite steep and the rooms were at various levels but they were clean and tidy except for the lace curtains in room 12 I think a drop of washing powder would go a long way. Noisy when others are above or below at times but nothing to disruptive. being a pub made it a bit noisy, but the music went off at 11.30 so it was ok.. Hot water took ages to crank up, then was volcanic!!. noisy fan noise throughout the night, not spotless. Wine was very expensive per glass. Car parking can be tricky. Room too small. Have chosen a different one for next visit. nothing. bathrooms could do with revamp. Missing lampshade by bed, broken bath plug, grout around bath was black. It's a bit tired and could do with some refurbishment. Room service tray left in corridor. Receptionist had difficulty deciphering the reservations book. bathroom. All the lights in the room fused when the bedside light was switched on Unable to get the shower to work Toilet seat cracked Bathroom needs updating Mattress soft and very bouncy Not enough bright light around the mirror in the room Very noisy plumbing. Our room was a little tired and claustaphobic but it was a very hot night. Bathroom very small and bath taps not accessable to short fat patrons. One male rude member of staff on reception. Dirty windows in the room and dirty bath screen. The room was very hot and the toilet door did not close. Lots of stairs, so no good for my disabled sister, however, staff did their best to be as helpful as possible. The place has a rather shabby appearance. Service for breakfast was very slow, the room was like an oven.. was a particularly hot weekend and their were no fans in the room and the window only partially opened. Should have some standing fans on standby for when it gets hot!. Other furnishings in room a bit tired. Lots of noise in the night - wind whistling in secondary glazing - some internal noise as room was at top of stairs. Bathroom door didn't shut. rooms tired in need of a makeover. I had originally booked 2 rooms one a single which was cancelled but I had indicated at the time of booking that the single room was for someone elderly.We had room 16 which was up about 5 flights of stairs and it would have been totally unsuitable for my mother,indeed if she had come we would not have been able to stay. Room 16 s decor was rather tired and the toilet seat was cracked. Room was in need of redecoration!. Bathroom not the cleanest. Poor state of Decor.
