  This hotel is like my view of an old hotel should be steeped in history and splendour. It was a pleasure the rooms are not modern although they do have the touches like the plasma tv and modern bathroom. Overall I would not change anything about the hotel it was perfect.   I'm on gluten free diet - had no problems whatsoever. The chef even amended the Valentine's Day menu in the Grill Room. All the staff were exceptionally helpful. The rooftop hyropool was wonderful. - The upgrade to our room was very comfortable and appreciated. The staff were all very helpfull and friendly.

  The location for Edinburgh city centre was perfect, the bus stop wasright outside the hotel and took 5 minutes at the most to get you intothe centre, much quicker than by car. The owners were exceptionallyhelpful in all aspects including booking a taxi to our restaurant. Theroom was a lovely size and decor and it was all very clean. She went beyond expectations for helping us w airline details, reservations, information, etc. She happily got up very early to provide a lovely continental breakfast for 2 of us w early flights.
