  All our stay was perfect. The bedroom was just like the one in the pictures. Very clean and comfy. Great double bed. Perfect with tea/coffee/chocolate facilities in the room. Double glass window. Dark and thick curtain to get the room dark at night. The road workers arrived around 7.30 in the morning but we were already preparing us for breakfast (monday to frida - The Elder York Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh! The location is excellent, walking distance to all attractions. There are road works going on, but these won't interrupt your stay and should be over soon. We were greeted on arrival in a friendly way and shown our very clean and spacious room, with bathroom ensuite. Our host offered an excellent recommendation for a pub for dinner.   This hotel is a real gem of a find..it is about a 10 minute walk or 3 minute cab ride from Princess Street. It is spotlessly clean and was so cozy that we din't want to leave. The staff are a credit to the hotel, nothing is too much trouble for them. I arrived 2 hours early and my room was ready and i was allowed to check in with any problems.... mitä ihmiset sanovat » Brekfast has plenty of variety and if you leave the beautiful dining room hungry, then you have only yourself to blame. I can't recommend this hote - The room was well sized, central location (behind Carlton Hill) and close to Princes Street and St James shopping centre. The quiet surroundings made for a very comfortable sleep and the bed was also very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly and always had a smile. Also from the living room area there was a nice little garden (although not sure if/how you could get to it)

  Our accommodation was actually a townhouse over 3 storeys just yards offthe royal mile. It was fantastic-clean and well equipped and would nothesitate to recommend it. In fact we plan to use it again very soon.
