  The building is beautiful with traditional decor and large stained glass window at the main stair case. The staff were really friendly and could not have been more helpful, providing everything from an annotated map to the city centre - without me asking for it, to menus for local restaurants. The breakfast in the morning was cooked to order in a ... mitä ihmiset sanovat » cosey and friendly dining room and did not disappoint. The food was delicious and I was particularly impressed that they had a vegetarian hot breakfas - A warm sincere greeting by the owners on arrival set the tone for our stay. Lovely room , well dressed and furnished.En-suite more than roomy enough and fit for purpose, which isn't always the case with guest houses we've used in the past. Location is peaceful, and in a nice area. Pleasant and friendly staff could not be more helpful, and the breakfast sets you up for the day, truly a treat!! Private parking at the back of the house (free), is a bonus. We both rate Ascot House as being as good

  very good value for money; hotel staff very friendly and helpful; hotel very clean and well decorated; rooms quiet and very comfortable; excellent choice of cereals, fresh fruit, and cooked menu for breakfasts; the lounge/bar area was nice place to meet up with my friends before we went out each evening; and basically everything about the hotel was... mitä ihmiset sanovat » excellent and I would 100% recommend it - Excellent hotel, very comfortable and friendly atmosphere - a real home from home. The rooms are generously proportioned and the staff couldn't have done enough for us. The breakfasts are excellent. Location of the hotel to York was good and only a 20minute walk or three minute taxi ride away. All in all we had a great weekend and would readily recommend The Limes to anyone.
