Very friendly helpful staff - my kettle did not work and the receptionist brought me a new one; the cook came out to ask me to rate my meal, the waiter was very helpful ( despite all three being non-native-born their English was good). excellent staff, friendly and very accomodating - always helpful and polite with a smile as well. Rooms are very clean, soft towels everyday, plenty of complementary drinks and sugar, milk etc. Beer on tap is very well looked after and prices are very competitive compared to Brighton.kaikki arvostelut »
the value for money was excellant at 19 pounds you cant complain. 3 min walk to preston park train station with easy access to brighton. i actually walked it in to brighton city centre but it took me 40 minutes. comfortable bed; clean, warm room; helpful staff. our room was first class. The hotel is within easy access to the centre of brighton and there is ample free parking at the hotel. the price, parking and it was nice a place to stay. staff very helpful food in resturant first class . ask for extra milk coffee and tea bags that were brought to our room .Staff were friendly and helpful, free parking,. Location. The Hotel was conveniently placed for my visit. the staff were friendly, a good location. close to town centre, affordable, cosy. The free adequate parking for large vans was our priority. I felt the decor in the public areas could do with refreshing. lumpy old mattress. noisy because of traffic. only one window opened a little which resulted in the room being very very hot. The second window was broken so would not open at all.No left in the hotel . the sink of the bathroom has no (hotandcool water mikser), you have to use very cool water or very hot water only. Bed linen, pillows and blankets not very soft. the room was too hot and if the windows were opened the sound of the traffic was too loud. there was no fridge in the room. Lack of Lift and Strong smell of tobacco in hotel corridor. The rooms could do with a little modernisation but were still comfortable.Noisy doors near room - hinges kept squeaking during night. Not all lights worked in room. Heating was on full blast - had to chase round to get an adjustor. No extra pillows supplied following our request. The main problem was this wasn't a "quiet" location being situated besides a very busy main road!!! Rather disappointed about this because it was very misleading.The room we stayed in this visit was good except for the bed which wasthe most uncomfortable one I have ever slept in in fact we were unableto sleep. The mattress needs to be replaced urgently and the base wasvery badly stained which was very unpleasant. The size and cleaniness ofthe room was excellent and good value for money. We would stay again butnot in that room. the window in my room didn't close properly and had a broken handle although I was not cold so it didn't spoil things. I neglected to mention it to reception. is was comfortable but they need a duvert instead of to many of layers. Staff unwilling to open restaurant, preferring us to order dinner at the bar. Probably the most uncomfortable bed I have ever "slept" in, it was like sleeping on the floor. Poor soundproofing between rooms. Every part of the hotel was creeching. Room Service does not knocks the door and gets in the room straightaway????. the hotel does not have the facilities as described in their and your website. i booked a smoking room - they dont have any. claim to have cable/dish tv in all rooms - they dont. The heating was stifling and the hotel very stuffy. We had to open the windows and as the room overlooked the London Rd it was v noisy. So were the inconsiderate women arriving back at 4.30 am and having a noisy smoke outside! Shower needed fixing.The bed was very lumpy and springy not comfortable at all, also they had blankets on the bed - very itchy ! The shower didn't work unless you held it in your hand - then the water dribbled out. The hotel is very old, not well maintained, the room is very small.On entering the room, we noticed that there was a ripped curtain, theradiator was full on and the controls were so old that you needed a pairof pliers to move them, there were no legs on the base of the bed whichwas therefore too low, there were at least two soft floorboards one ofwhich broke at approx 11pm on our second night, on complaining toreception, the receptionist was about to leave... Faded decoration, coffee on walls, shower didn't work properly in bathroom, bathroom not clean, holes in carpets, generally run down establishment in need of renovation.The room smelt of dampness. Very scruffy appearence. Very mis matched decor, and very warm. Overpriced for appearence E.G. masking tape covering a hole in the wall.Generally down at heel.It was dingy in rooms. It was dirty and run down, the phone didn't work in the room and thehotel information pack was out of date and over 3 years old. Thewindows, frames and net curtains were filthy and the ceiling outside theroom leaked. It's a run down, dirty rabbit warren of a hotel.the staff were rude and the room dirty. The room was dirty, the window would not stay open and the rom was very hot. There was no parking spaces fpr hotel guest as other people had used them.
