The best place I've ever stayed in Madrid. The location is just perfect - 1 minute from Gran Via station, very close to Plaza del Sol. I couldn't believe that the hotel of such quality could be so cheap. I cannot even compare it with the places I've stayed before. The best money/value option.

You can't beat the location. And while no hotel costing less than a
fortune is totally quiet, I was pleasantly surprised at how relatively
peaceful Madrid City Rooms was. The double windows did not block out all

Hostal La Selecta is one of the numerous mini-hotels located in one porch of the big building located in the Gran Via in the very center of Madrid. Each floor of six is divided to two-three mini-hotels. I can say nothing about others, but in La Selecta you are meeting with warm attitude. -

It's an hostal, not an hotel. Said that, everithing was really good: WiFi decent, clean room (they clean it every day) and the staff is very helpful. Position is very good: really close to atocha, to the retiro gardens, the Prado, the modern art museum.. And close to city centre as well. In case in the district there are too different bars/pubs..

Rooms were small but cosy, and with plenty of space to put your luggage/stuff, big tables (if you want to use your laptop etc), minifridge. Centrally located and very quiet. Great to recover from jet lag after a long trip from Australia. Located a short walk from the metro station, so caught metro from airport. Could walk to all major sights from there. Nice and clean place. Excellent value for the centre of a large city. -
