  This didn't feel like any other hotel, it was like you were staying in someone's home - from the decor to the breakfast to the way we were treated. The double room we got was very comfortable and it looked like a little cottage in the city. The location is very central - we were in the old town and we could walk to the Guggenheim and La Ribera Market. The day we stayed in Bilbao, th - We really enjoyed our stay. The owner was very friendly and helpful (and spoke excellent English). The room was so homey-it was nice to go out in the rain and go "home" to a warm and comfortable room. The heaters worked quickly and the room was large and clean. The breakfast in the morning was good-tea/coffee and an assortment of bread products (and fruit and yogurt, if desired).   Pensión La Salve is not too hard to find if you do your homework. Look for it using Google Earth. If you go through Puente de La Salve it should be easy to get there. There is an easier way to go there without using the bridge, but you might have to find it there. It is about a ten minute walk from the city.   Very good location and helpful staff. Simple accommodation but fair for the money. A very easy walk to the Guggenheim and to the old town. Reasonably priced parking nearby. - the staff was very helpful and kind, the location was great, just a few meters from Plaza Moyua where the airport shuttle stops.

  For the money, it was one of the most spacious and bright rooms I have had for the category. The criticisms that this place got was minor and I don't get it. One side of the room is floor to ceiling windows. Really light and bright. Clean and spacious for the price. Right in the Old Town close to bars and restaurants and you can walk everywhere. The outside of the pension has p** on it even though the name is - Location couldn't have been better, right in the old town. Staff were lovely, though English isn't really spoken they will do their best to communicate. Room was really nice. Breakfast isnt' fancy but it is adequate (Tea, coffee, toast, ceral and pastry) Entry is via buzzer only and you need to leave room key in reception when you leave.
