The food and service was great, and the room was clean and comfortable. Greetings from the staff were warm and genuine and the hotel was quiet and well placed for the work I was there to do. I liked the fact that there was a sizeable desk and plenty of room. Very friendly staff, (though the General Manager was a bit stand- offish!). Well appointed accommodation and excellent restaurant on the evening we ate there. Staff member Georgia particularly helpful with excellent hospitality skills.

Kitchen in room was well equipped with hob, microwave, etc. Our room was very spacious and well appointed . Lovely pool and area to sit and relax . Every one was very helpful and the food excellent . Very well-equipped rooms including kitchenette in even cheapest rooms. Excellent location. The location was fantastic....very close to the shops....ample parking and close to the wineries..... really loved it!. I really liked the room and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were lovely and very helpful. big enough bed as we normally don't share a room let alone a bed (we are old). pillow menu. Everything was good, staff, cleanliness the whole package. As they had no record of our reservation - they gave us the last two rooms available. One couple got a nice upgrade - their room was excellent, recently refurbished and they loved it. We got a standard Executive Suite - which was Ok, but a bit tired, smelled damp or poorly aired. They mentioned they are refurbishing all their rooms and I can see why. Room was comfortable enough. Overall, our experience was negatively influenced by the mess-up over our booking. Resturant exellent ,good staff. The sloping floor in the bathroom wet area, which could be a trap for older people or children if the floor was wet. General Manager appeared not at all friendly when we were at Reception - she could at least have said hello as she passed by the desk? Fortunately her staff made up for her apparent indifference! We did have some difficulty organising a hire car but clearly they are not geared to "casual" hirings and was very surprised to get a confirmed booking that was subsequently cancelled!. As we cooked for ourselves we would have liked an oven. The large earthquake while we were there (not in the hotel) was unsettling, the after-shakes went on all evening but the hotel is well built, and the staff reassured us when we returned, so we didn't feel in any danger. Nothing. Just what we expected. After a day of wine tasting...I was a little disappointed that the hotels restaurant would not allow you to "bring your own wine".....I wouldn't minded of paying a corkage fee....but I thought it was a little silly that we couldn't do it... Would have been nice to access the pool area without having to go through the restaurant, as we were in an upstairs room without a balcony. We are smokers (grrr, yes we know) and felt we had to go to the carpark and stand to have a smoke and coffee. We were thankful it was not raining and that there was a garden stake we could put a coffee cup on. The pillows were a bit hard and flat. Dated Bathroom King Bed a little hard to sleep on Bedspread stiff, would prefer quilt I was cold and no spare blanket Light comes through top of curtains. Wine in bar had been opened Jan 17 but still being sold by the glass a week later. I know you are planning bathroom renovations, but a temporary handrail of some sort would be good in the shower. Bath is very slippery and there is nothing to grab if one slips!. The kettle didn't cut out when boiled. Bathroom was a bit tired. We were on ground floor overlooking pool area, windows could maybe do with blinds as unless curtains were drawn people could see straight into the room. Road noise. no separate bar - it was part of the restaurant. Breakfast was expensive. On arrival, we were told that they had no record of our booking - luckily we had a copy of the booking confirmation. We were told it was our lucky day that they had room for us - even though we had booked weeks in advance. At check out they tried to over charge us - luckily our original booking form confirmed the correct pricing. Two stuff-ups with booking/reception indicates there is a problem here. Bathrooms need upgrading/enlarging.
