Very nice location ( the castle is just right behind the BB); very welcoming host; nicely decorated room (French style); and the highlight is the dinning area and the self cooking kitchen. We cooked by ourselves that night and had a wonderful dinner with a wonderful view of the castle coming out of the window. The setting is ideal as it is located on the property adjoining Craigdarroch Castle , a Victoria landmark . A very comfortable home with a wonderful view of the castle from the eating area . The continental breakfast was very good and provided a good start to the day .

Convenience: for food, internet, bus, and available car rental. Friendly host. Great Location. Quiet. Pleasant views. Good continental breakfast. Ample hot water. Comfortable bed. Friendly fellow guests. -friendly innkeeper & guests -comfortable public areas -location. Location was great. The Castle located right behind the house and the house only a mile or so away from the city center was fantastic. House was quiet and well maintained with a nice large living room area. Price point. Bed was comfortable. Neighborhood was safe and quiet. Beautiful Room Loved having a view of the Castle from our room. It was very quiet, almost too quiet. The location is a good distance from center of victoria but walkable. It is a beautiful old neighborhood with a castle in the back yard. Our room had new surfaces, bathroom and kitchenette. nothing. -parking was sometimes difficult. Craigmyle isn't really a B&B. It was nice and comfortable but it wasn't like any English b7b I've been to. The owners don't live there and in fact never showed up (a nice young lady set out the cold cereal for breakfast). Most of the "guests" were long term residents with weeks long or months long contracts. Craigmyle reminded me more of a youth hostel than a B&B. Nice but not what I expected. Needs major updating. Old wallpaper, old carpet, old furniture - an old house doesn't need to feel or look old! The best way to describe this place is like a hostel with a private bath and breakfast. Very bare-bones accommodations. We never really got to meet anyone who worked at the B&B which felt a little impersonal. I never saw the owners in the two days we stayed there until we were walking out the door the morning we left. In the 20 years I have been staying at bed and breakfasts', I have always enjoyed getting to know the owners and their stories and being served more than a "fair" continental breakfast. We did not even have a blow dryer,or radio in our room, I thought that was standard 10 years ago!. Unfriendly and no one around to give a personal touch to the Inn/B&B. The thin walls make it easy to hear neighbors talking in the room. Breakfast is cereal and pastry with few fruits and sweet yogurt. If you are larger than 5ft 11 or overweight you may not fit in the shower. Cramped spaces with our bedroom window looking into the next room's window.

Please note this heritage property does not have an elevator on site and is only accessible by stairs of 20 - 25 steps. Guests with mobility restrictions are requested to contact property should they have any concerns about the stairs. The daily breakfast buffet is served from 7:00 until 10:00.
