  The staff were very friendly , welcoming and always ready to help. The location , set in woods and hills above Lake Windermere , is fantastic. As for the hotel , it had character and charm , with some very appealing features. The food was excellent. - Attention to detail and being made extremely welcome

  Everything about the Hotel is first class. From the moment we checked in the staff are so friendly and very professional everything was excellent. It was my birthday and we had chocolates left in the room and also a nice touch there had been placed a hot water bottle in the bed. Never had that before.   this was our first visit to the lamplighter we were very impressed with the friendliness of all the staff we arrived with our 2 cavalier dogs who were made a big fuss of we also were asked if we wanted to eat in a separate room so the dogs could be with us which we declined as they are more than happy to stay in their sleeping crate .the breakfas... lo que la gente dice » t was superb as were the meals in the restaurant at night initially we were only going to eat in there one night but it was so good we ate every nig - The innkeepers were charming! The hotels rooms newly decorated and the kingsize beds very comfortable with lovely pillows. The breakfast was also particularly delicious, with fresh juices, Greek yogurt with berry compote for example. They accommodated well for special vegetarian requests, even going out for veggie sausage for us for our second day's breakfast. Well done and thank you for a fantastic stay! Mr and Mrs Ryan
