  From the moment I was greeted by the lady of the Hotel, I felt welcome. I was given a very comfortable - if modest double room for a single stay. I wish I could have packed the mattress and pillows into my luggage and taken them home with me. The Bathroom was sufficient, the room was clean and quiet. To finish my stay, I had a very well presented and cooked breakfast. My only cr - We really enjoyed our stay at The Elizabeth House Hotel. Our double room was lovely, very clean and tidy and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for you, in particular the young lady who checked us in at the front reception desk. As we had never visited Southampton before, we had a few tourist type questions and the young lady was happy to help us and answered all of our questions.   Good value for money, can't complain about price. However it would have been good to know that there is no bathroom, but only a toilet, and that the shower is a cabin within the room. As we shared our room with my mother-in-law, it required a bit of turning the eye and covering up while getting ready to shower and after the shower. So if you need your shower - receptionist (Vicki) was very friendly upon check-in. I was afraid it would be noisy as it fronted onto a busy road but didn't hear a thing all night. bed was comfortable. single room was smallish but adequate for my one night stay. next door to mcdonalds if don't want to pay for hotel breakfast and close to ikea, supermarkets and entertainment venues. close to train station and coach station (can walk it) and about a 6 pound taxi fare to the cruise terminals.
