  I recently stayed in the Hilton in York and I have to be honest, I came away feeling ripped off. It nearly put me off trying the Hilton again. I tentatively booked the Double Tree for 2 nights - I have a sweet tooth and the warm cookie was a real incentive - and a lovely touch. I have got to say that I loved the hotel. And I have traveled extensively in Asia and Europe. I stayed at the Double Tree at the Newcastle Airport because I had an early flight the next morning. My kids and I enjoyed an excellent meal at the restaurant before they headed back home to Durham. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional. The room was perfect.
