Rob and Vicky made us feel welcome from the minute we made the booking, they were able to provide information that made our travel arrangements work better. Unlike the other guest houses I looked into, the room I booked was the
room I had. It was very roomy and comfortable. The staff was very
friendly and accommodating. I inquired via email about a room refrigerator-
even though Valentine's didn't have one, I was told when I
arrived that my suggestion was taken and some were ordered
(unfortunately the company couldn't deliver it for my visit). Also,
I got a 2 page email with tourist suggestions after asking for some
suggestions. The breakfast was p

I arrived at a very unusual time. Whilst I didn't meet a member of staff the help I received over the phone was fantastic. This is a value for money hotel, which is what I wanted. + Quiet. Some people may not like the fact that there is minimum service, but for me it was perfect, as I like to do stuff myself

Great sized rooms in a lovely Scottish style. Lovely staff who made great full Scottish breakfast! It's not too far from the city centre, and very close to several good restaurants. -

The guest house is run by a very warm and inviting family. The breakfast is excellent, a good variety of cereals, hot food, fruit, yogurt and a seemingly endless supply of tea and toast! We were given great instructions on getting to the main part of the city and the room was comfortable and spacious with a spotless ensuite which was small but perfectly adequate for our needs. Having previously stayed in hostels when I have visited Edinburgh, this made a welcome change and I'm sure we will stay

It's a really lovely decorated house. The owners are extremely
friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really tasty with good choice of
food (glutenfree, vegeterian, vegan was no problem). The area was
extremely quiet during night time. The house is in walking distance to
the castle and the royal mile. There are several good restaurants in
walking distance (5-10 minutes).

Very friendly welcome. We were in Edinburgh to see the rugby match and
the Granville was one of a few places to stay that didn't demand you
booked both the Friday and Saturday nights or else charged more than

the guesthouse! Everything we needed for short stay on the city. -
Staff very friendly and helpful, willing to provide anything we needed. Room fairly large with comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast in lovely front room. Good location near canal and we could walk into city in 20 mins.
