The hotel was lovely. The setting was beautiful, the rooms were spacious, attractive and very clean. The whole setting had a wonderful atmosphere. The food and drinks were excellent, and the staff could not have done more to make us comfortable. The room was comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities and a big bathroom. A great state of the art gym with all the machines and weights you would hope for- these seemed almost brand new! the car park token needed to be validated as we were planning to
actually leave the car park( which is underneath the hotel). We liked

Lovely large room with huge bathroom, the freestanding bath was a really nice feature, the only problem being inadequate lighting in the bedroom area - lovely lamps etc but I couldn't see what I was getting out of my case properly!!. Yes, the stairs are a bit of a nightmare (certainly get you puffing), but they wouldn't stop me staying here again

We stayed for 2 night - very impressed with johnathon the manager he no's his trade, the breakfast waitress very proffessional and helpful and breakfast very nice and plenty to start you off for the day, the room very nice and comfortable. thankyou very much to the manager johnathon,sally and staff. i would definatly recomend youre hotel to friends and family

This was our third stay at The Griffin - and I am sure we will stay there again:
staff are always very cheerful, helpful and welcoming;
location is great for exploring Bath - near station as we travel by train and central for shops, theatre, etc.
Breakfast is fine, as are the bar snacks and range of beers and wines. -

Friendly welcome. welcoming entrance. Clean comfortable rooms nicely decorated. Thoughtfulness for guests little touches such as fresh milk available to go with tea trays. crisps / chocolate available to purchase. Fans in rooms (we visited in a heatwave) and every effort was made to cool rooms down. Very friendly and helpful owners/staff. -

A short walk to town, although walking up the hill (back from Bath) can be challenging if you have poor fitness. A cab from town only cost £6, which is a cheap alternative to walking up the hill.
Overall a wonderful stay and I would definitely stay at the Devonshire House again.

What can I say! Such a wonderful place to stay, very comfortable and the owner was so lovely and lively always there to help and offering up information about the area. Our room was very comfortable with a king size bed and on suite bathroom.

The staff were very friendly yet professional and unobtrusive, helpful and knowledgeable about the local area an how to get to different places.
The room was comfortable and relaxing, with interesting décor and everything we needed.
The continental breakfast was of a very good standard, good quality ingredients and products, lots of homemade jams, fresh bread, fruit and good coffee. I was initially a bit disappointed they didn't offer a cooked breakfast but the standard of the continental brea
