Staff were very friendly and helpful. The downstairs rooms were lovely, it's easy to see what a great house the building must once have been. The room was excellent value for money, especially as the price included breakfast, and the location is good, only 10 mins walk down the hill into Bath. Don't let your satnav take you through the scary backs

V friendly staff - good setting up the hill from the city but with a fine view from upper floors - bedroom was functional clean comfortable with a v powerful shower - and although the decor was a little tired and dated it added to the overall feel of an old English hotel from years ago - so whilst that could seem negative in fact it added to the fun of the one night stay.

staff are always very cheerful, helpful and welcoming;
location is great for exploring Bath - near station as we travel by train and central for shops, theatre, etc.

The hotel was full of character and well thought out. The staff were unbelievably helpful and nothing was too much trouble... they even dried our swimmers for us on our last day! The room was so much more than basic. We found it very inviting as soon as we walked in. The evening meal was done to perfection, and breakfast would satisfy anybody. - The staff were all very efficient and friendly and the surroundings were second to none.

Muy bien situado y excelente nivel de servicio - The staff were all very nice and friendly. The hotel is very close to the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, which is why we chose it. My wife is an outpatient at this hospital, and disabled. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful.

Friendly welcome. welcoming entrance. Clean comfortable rooms nicely decorated. Thoughtfulness for guests little touches such as fresh milk available to go with tea trays. crisps / chocolate available to purchase. Fans in rooms (we visited in a heatwave) and every effort was made to cool rooms down. Very friendly and helpful owners/staff. -

A short walk to town, although walking up the hill (back from Bath) can be challenging if you have poor fitness. A cab from town only cost £6, which is a cheap alternative to walking up the hill.
Overall a wonderful stay and I would definitely stay at the Devonshire House again.

Really nice greeting, very friendly and flexible to our needs, we
were in room 1 which was lovely and light. It is a pub so isn't
the kind of thing you'd expect at a hotel, but the friendliness
and general atmosphere was much better than cold hotel. Our friends
stayed at travelodge and paid more and were very disappointed.
Breakfast was great, and I'd definitely stay again if back in

I was there because my son was competing in the Special Olympics in Bath. I stayed at the YHA because it was close to the University campus and a good price and I like an adventure. I regularly stay here because of my commuting lifestyle. Having stayed in all of Bath's hostels, YHA is definitely the best.. By far! It has so many more benefits and facilities than the others. The showers are actually hot in private wet rooms within a communal setting. I also like that there is a sink in all of the dorm rooms.
