  I have stayed in 6 hotels in Sir lanka and this is the best one. Everything in this hotel is unique and traditional. Tea smell is all over the place. Staff is freindly and resuturant is pefrect for dinner they have an Italian night, International night and Chinees night every week. It is an unforgettable experience at a magnificent place transporting you a century back in time with all luxury. The rooms are very traditional with beautiful views over the tea plantations. We had dinner at the train carriage which was an experience on its own (a six course dinner of high quality under 30euros!). It's a bit pricey, specially for the country's standard but worth the experience.

  Misty hills cottage is a jewel. The staff - sanath and the chef- were fantastic, and the level of attention and care and the quailty of the food excellent. The rooms were very comfortable, and the shower piping hot, with all sorts of thoughtful accessories e.g. Shampoo, shaving foam etc available.
