Vancouver Hoteles

Spent 2 weeks in this hotel staying in Vancouver for the first time while we explored the town. Room was spacious, spotlessly clean and the two queen sized beds were comfortable. The crockery, cutlery etc. supplied with the kitchen was new and clean - so often in hotels with kitchen facilities these utensils look as though they've been gathered over many years and are a real mish-mash and look a bit dubious. This was probably the best hotel I've ever stayed at. Not only was it a great value, it was located right in the heart of the Robson Street shopping district, it was close to the waterfront, and everything we wanted to see in Vancouver was just a quick walk or a short bus ride away. CLEAN rooms! Amazing housekeeping staff. The customer service here was exceptional - I have never had such great service. The people were all so friendly and really cared about their guests. We stayed at Sutton Place for one day following an Alaskan cruise. We had never been in Vancouver before and were excited to spend a day in the city. Sutton Place came highly recommended and did not disappoint. We took a taxi over very early in the morning and were greeted warmly. They took our luggage, provided us with maps and recommendations for the day, and told us that our room would be ready early afternoon. We bought a day pass on one of the hop-on-hop-off busses and took off. Afte - Philip

I met up with a friend and her mother for a family wedding. We shared a suite and had adequate privacy for all three of us. The bathroom and kitchen were a bit dated, but very clean. It was perfect for our needs as a number of family members were in the other suites and rooms. Stanley Park is a few blocks away and it is in a quiet residential area. It is wonderful to wake up to the sounds of birds singing rather than traffic. Just a few blocks away are numerous dining options, shops, spas, etc. - Cyril

Well located downtown. Very good free breakfast. We were able to print our boarding passes with the computer located in the lobby, fireplace in the lobby, clean hotel, the cleaning ladies are doing a great job, flat screen TV. Room was a bit small and there was no fridge in our room. - Edward

Dear Eleanor and Andrew, Thank you for a wonderful informative few days. I decided that I am a Shangri La "groupie." The central location of the hotel makes it easy to visit most of the sites of Vancouver. From the moment one enters the Shangri La Hotel, the atmosphere is one of serenity, incorporating a relaxing ambiance due in no small part to the scent throughout. I found the underlining feeling of the hotel to be contemporary and comfortable while not being overly trendy. T - Sheryl

The best possible location in Vancouver for the price. Great access to Stanley Park, English Bay, Davey Street, restaurants and bars, and downtown (via busses directly outside). Great staff. This is the second time I have stayed here and it won't be the last. - Andy

We booked this Hotel for 3 nights while staying in Downtown Vancouver for my birthday. Location wise: It is located right by the ferry to get to Granville Island which turned out to be very convenient. We would walk 2 blocks down to catcht he ferry, check out the market and brewery on Granville Island, then take the ferry on to Yaletown for dinner, and then walk back to our hotel (15 min). It is also a 5minute walk to the where all of the clubs and lounges are. A little far to walk to Robson and - Edward

I have stayed twice at this hotel (once in 2002 & 2009) both times going on a cruise. Location is wonderful. You can walk to almost anything downtown from here. The view (you can see the water & the mountains too) is really nice. The free downtown shuttle is great & the drivers are very nice & give a mini tour with information when taking you places. The price was was great! We got a 2 bedroom suite for much less than we could have gotten just 2 regular hotel rooms & the room - Penelope

The hotel is just outside the popular hotel belt but convenient to a Skytrain station. All the rooms are spacious with a separate sitting room and with a kitchenette and bathroom . There is a large construction site across the hotel but did not disturb us at floor 13. We enjoyed our stay. - Neil

Just got back from Vancouver and we stayed at the Oceanside for a week. The location is perfect - one a quiet street one block from the corner of Denman and Davie so you're close to loads of shops and restaurants and there are several regular bus routes. The staff, especially Sam on the desk, were really friendly and helpful. The hotel looks a bit worn from the outside but inside is clean and tidy and what we thought was a room turned out to be a full suite with a separate bedroom and a larg - Shelley
