  The Black Rock was the delightful and invaluable base for the best family vacation we have ever had. The hotel helped us book incredible whale watch and kayak excursions, and the staff u - While pricey - this resort is worth every penny - the rooms are beautifully appointed with excellent views of the bay, ocean or forest. The Wild Pacific Trail is easily accessed and enjoyed from the lodge. The restaurant and cafe were well priced with excellent menus. Ucluelet is a great town for wildlife viewing - stay around this area for the best chance at sea otters.

  The innkeeper was delightful, warm, welcoming and super-helpful, the room was spacious and immaculate (the bathroom was gigantic) and the guests' sitting room was lovely. We were asked what we preferred for breakfast and it was great. The place was a little bit far from the town, but that wasn't a problem.   We loved this guest house, the owners are so friendly and it really is a home from home. The hot tub is great and there is an enclosed garden which was great for a son to run around in and the owners even bought toys down for him to play with.   There was a double bathtub, a double shower and a private hot tub. It was very quiet and in the middle of a rainforest. The Wild Pacific Trail was just a couple minutes walk and so was the Pacific Ocean. It was very relaxing and the owners were very nice. - The BATHROOM!!!
