I and my family have been staying at the Carolyn Beach Motel every time when in the area since the early 1970's and have always loved it. The new owners have done a beautiful job renovating the facilities. The greet you and make you feel like a friend. The relaxing atmosphere and the view of the lock and the ships. The owners are friendly and accommodating.
If you are looking for a 5 star with all of the bells and whistles this isn't it but if you are looking for peace and quiet without looking out on an asphalt parking lot and listening to traffic this is it.

We liked all of it.
The rooms were clean and tidy with hidden extras (look on your pillow). We loved the fake log fire as heating.
The views from the garden were lovely. We stayed when it was complete snow (Feb), would recommend a season when you can sit in the garden on the various chairs provided.

This little gem is right on the St. Lawrence River. It's location is made even more special with the beautiful gardens and boardwalk. Charming "cottages" with comfortable furnishings, kitchens, fireplace and stunning views. The vintage vibe just adds to it's charm. I really enjoyed the yummy muffins included in the continental breakfast!

The women working on the front desk and the house cleaning staff were very helpful. They helped us install a raised toilet seat after my husband's surgery.
