Having stayed at the Southway a half dozen times in the last ten years, this visit was the best by far--perhaps it has something to do with the change of ownership?? I liked the clean homey atmosphere of the hotel and also the fact that
it is only a 5 min drive to the Casino and race track. Staff were very
helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the Shallows restaurant --- got an upgrade
during the current renovations and appreciated that very much.

Fabulous breakfast. Great choice if you are in town to do work at the university. -
The breakfast in the cafeteria was great. Lots of selection. Burned out bulb in the bedroom was replaced promptly. Kitchen and washroom areas were clean.

Having spent 40+ weeks a year (for over 20 years) in hotels very much like this one I can honestly say that the staff here are in a class of their own. This place has everything. You don't even have to pull out your laptop! Computer AND PRINTER all in your room. Free laundry on one floor, exercise room, great free breakfast and close enough to walk downtown to the tourist areas. Four or so blocks down side street to Rideau Canal -- great walking site! Will definitely stay here again if I have the pleasure of another trip there.

The Cartier Place is a wonderful hotel. Centrally located to many of
the attractions. One feature that we enjoyed was the kitchenette.
Helped save us a little money by cooking breakfast in the morning so we
were not rushed to get out of the hotel in the mornings to find
something to eat.

It's centric. My room and my bed were big. Good/affordable meals. - The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Pierre who was working the front desk on Dec 31st and Jan 1st he was outstanding in his customer service. Our interaction with Pierre made the trip memorable.

The hotel was convenient to all of the Winterlude activities. The staff were fantastic and friendly. Everyone was very courteous and helpful. -
remodelled foyer and two storey space. bed looked great and very comfortable. clean. modern and efficiently designed washroom.
