Modern, stylish yet cozy and quiet. Modeled with attention to detail down to the faucetts. Super comfy bed. The suit was perfect for a single person, a couple or a small family. Beautiful bathroom and an outstanding shower! All modern appliances...stove, microwave, dishwasher, full size refridgerator. Flat-screen TV with crisp/excellent picture on all channels, free WI-FI. An in-room safe. The Eldon provided almost everything I needed and with style. It's within walking distance to the White.
all reviews » The hotel is fully renovated. Nice, clean, modern. Having a kitchen helped feed breakfast in the morning for kids. Close to Mt. Vernon square metro station-yellow line. Friendly front desk. Elisa is great. Left our bags at the hotel upon check out since we had a later flight. CVS is round the block for groceries. We were flying from DCA - so a quick 5 min walk to metro and we were at the airport < 30mins!!. Room/suites are great - extra room, interesting design features, separate bedroom, and a nice compact kitchen. Families seem to stay here and that means a bit of noise in halls and overhead in the later afternoon and early evening, but always quite later. Plenty of power outlets and several places to work. I liked the tile floors. It is close to the Metro. The staff was friendly. We were a family of seven and occupied two one bedroom suites. The living room is spacious, the kitchen is beautifuuly arranged and modern with all facilities, the bedroom is large with ample storage area and the beds are comfortable and the shower is excellent. the hotel is 10 minutes away from restaurants and shopping area. Every staff member was very friendly, helpful even with our luggage. They helped us with directions. We were treated with respect and a smile daily. The accommodation were perfect for two couples and the kitchen was such a plus for quick breakfasts before our full day of sightseeing. We were very pleased. The Eldon facility is exceptionally well kept and the "apartments" are lovely. We liked the full kitchen and the fact of a separate bedroom. The staff was always helpful and spent extra effort in getting our Wireless connection up and running. The location is also good. The room was perfect for us, I loved how it was a mini apartment. We definitely took advantage of the oven. The furnishings were super nice and comfortable, and the bathroom was superb. The sink was cool, and the rain-head shower was awesome. Separate bedroom which was quiet-perfect for putting the little one to bed early; full kitchen including stove-helped us save on eating out; very nicely decorated; linens were very comfortable; staff was flexible when we extended our stay. The room was fantastic for the price. Pure luxury. A full kitchen, granite tops, luxury stone (granite/marble) shower etc, clean, modern, complimentary wireless Internet access (which worked well).. just a fantastic room. VERY CLEAN... The staff was friendly, our suite was always very clean and comfortable. Very close to all museums and attractions, easy walk to everything. Our boys (4 & 10) really enjoyed to suite and the space. Front desk gave us a room before check-in time. That was very thoughtful. That was greatly appreciated. I liked the room it was very spacious and comfortable.I like being able to walk one block and grab a cab.The cvs around the corner was convenient as well. Nice place would definitely stay there again. I loved how spacious the rooms were. The look inside was very modern. I enjoyed the kitchen and living room, it felt like a little apartment, which we loved. We had all we needed in the room. loved the full kitchen which allowed us to eat in for meals if we wanted to save money on our trip! very clean and classy hotel.Loved the CVS right around the corner for food supplies etc!. It was close to the Conference Center where I went each day. Transportation was easy. CVS around the corner that had quick thing to eat. Friendly staff. Beautiful accommodations. Hotel was greatly located, it was about 20 minutes to city center (The Mall) by walk. It was perfectly clean, big enough for 4 people, furnuture is really nice, bathroom is great. Clean well appointed kitchen. Large and spacious suite with a huge shower in the bathroom. Area felt safe and was handy to the circulator bus. Ten minute brisk walk to Whitehouse. Very serviceminded staff, Had 2 parcels delivered with a smile. Got a free cup of coffee in the morning. Will definitely stay there again and recommend the Hotel to others. Hotel is behind the new Marriot under construction. Morning noise is unavoidable- not Eldon's fault. The hotel is just that extra 5-10min walk from where I think it should be ideally located-noticeable especially when walking. Not so if you take the metro from the convention centre. No ramps at the entrance, so heavy luggage is awkward to get into the lobby. The lobby is tiny and felt a bit thread bare. In 2013 the location is awful! Massive construction across the street, boarded up buildings and concertina wire next door. Location will be terrific in a year or so. Not a perfect place for those with physical challenges. TV was not working and was not fixed for the whole period despite our repeated requests. We so not have any negative remarks. There was construction across the street; however, it was not that great a problem. By the time we were back in the room in the evening, they were gone. The internet didn't really work, breakfast cost additional money, our shower leaked a bit because the bottom of our door didn't have a seal... and our hall smelled like a sewer...not sure why, but the room didn't so that was key!. construction across the street; TV could've been a smidge bigger. No TV in the separate bedroom which is a first for any hotel stay for me. We like to relax in bed, watch a movie, sports etc rather than sit on a couch (which my daughter was using). Construction of new hotel next door, we left early everyday and by the evening they were finished so it wasn't that much of an inconvienece. It is something you can ignore. Toilet kept clogging (since the first day). Front desk gave us a plunger that was broken. On our last day they offered to change our room. Really?! For such a luxurious place, everything should be in working order. They need to put TV'S in the bedroom. location wasnt as close as I thought, but then again no matter where you stay in DC , your going to be walking somewhere. The construction outside of the hotel was not very attractive, but everyone was very friendly and courteous. The only thing that can make you crazy is new Marriot that is to be built just next to the hotel, so the noise from about 5 am is horrible. Of course, it is not Eldons' fault. Staff could have been a little more smiley. The vertical blinds didn't block the lights from the construction site across the road. Would have preferred carpet in the bedroom instead of the marble floors. Northing. N/A - completely satisfied. Unfortunately for Eldon Suites the Hotel opposite is undergoing major building work. We still booked here having read a similar feedback - as the location is great & rate very reasonable but you are woken early with the noise. We booked for 3 adults & had expected our adult daughter would have a bed provided but it was a foldout bed/couch. Staff helpful & did provide a foam topper pad to provide greater comfort. There was no tv in the bedroom which we just didnt understand in such a nice hotel and room. Also, there was extensive construction going on in the neighborhood which started at 6:30 am that no one mentioned. The view out of our room was of an abandoned apt building and the contruction of some major building across the street. Not really what I would qualify as 'a view'. Don't be put off by the surrounding boarded up buildings - a little offputting on your first vist. Nothing. No televison in the bedroom, not enough utensils in the suite(although there was a full kitchen), carpeting in hallway would cut back on the noise level. First night, unruly crowd across hall. WiFi was constantly down, had to ask 4 different people to look at it before finding out on our departure that the 4th floor has that problem. Would love it if there were a restaurant. A tv in the bedroom would be great. I wish I stayed longer. The couch in the living area was stained and looked dirty. Not having the convenience of vending machines. Although not your fault the early morning construction impacted our sleep. The pull out bed not very comfortable. Fold out sofa not v comfortable. Tiolet was stopped up... but fixed in an acceptable time. Hot water was non existent the first morning .... went from tepid to cold. Also the sofa bed is uncomfortable ... could feel every spring. The sofa bed was not fully stocked for use -no top sheet. The coffee table was heavy and hard to move to use the sofa bed. The AC unit was VERY loud when it was on. Construction outside starts at about 6am. It was not loud enough to wake me up but if I stirred and was trying to go back to sleep it was disturbing. Staff wasn't very friendly In-room internet was problematic Continental breakfast was challenged @ $5. That I had to leave. Ha!. The fact that they charge $30.00 a day for parking and that wasnt conveyed prior to check in either by website or when I called the customer service number. Marriott hotel was under construction across the street, noise started as early as 5 am, interrupting sleep much too early. I would have liked a bar or restaurant on site. breakfast wasn't impressive. Kids bed wasn't comfortable. The advertisement said that the room had two queen beds, but when we received the confirmation, they clarified one queen bed and one sofa bed. Also, the mattress of the sofa bed was very uncomfortable. nothin. Paying for parking. No washer-drier. I am sorry to say this but I do get the impression that some of your staff are exploited because they are migrants without a Green Card. I hope I am wrong.
