It is very close to the airport (about 1mi) although driving from the airport is about 2.5 miles. It is a quiet Old town location, but located on the I-5, so if you're a light sleeper, make sure you get ear plugs or make sure you get a front side room. We were there only for 2 days and 2 nights. Staff was friendly, parked our car very close to our room, likedvthe mini fridge, microwave and the breakfast included, it was more than I thought it would be (breakfast) and it was very convenient so that you got that out of the way and could start your day. We had young kids and we felt at ease as oppose to a mega hotel that caretered to business people, this felt homey. Was in good neighborhood, walking distance to Old Town and close to everything. Would stay ther. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but this is a very nice hotel. Great for business travel or, in our case, a layover as part of a longer trip. Shuttle service from the airport (~10 minutes) was fast and friendly. The evening desk clerk/manager, Josh was excellent. Very friendly, attentive and helpful and knowledgable of the area. He directed us to a nearby local restaurant and even looked up what the daily special was. This young man should be the prototype for all hotel desk clerks!. Staff were good. Very helpful. Rooms were nice, we had a double queen and it was large and comfortable. We were worried about being next to the freeway but with the 2 windows and the blackout curtains closed there was little noise. The Shuttle was a great asset. Took us to Old Town and the trolley pickup. Cinquo de Mayo was happening -sooo busy, but they made alternate arrangements and got us there. I really loved this hotel. Great value for your money. However, that didn't bother us because the weather was chilly. A/c unit in room was a tad but loud. I couldn't find anything. The breakfast room was too small for the "rush hour", but the hotel staff allowed us to use a table by the lobby, which turned out to be very comfortable, away from the crowds. There isn't a room service option on site, but they do have a partnership with an outside vendor, which is nice. However, that vendor (Order Inn, I believe) had changed their menu entirely from the one in the room and was fairly expensive. Still, the convenience was nice. The underground parking was low clearance. The way you have to pull into the hotel was awkward. The eggs, gravy, biscuits, & sausage were awful. We went out for breakfast after the first morning. Breakfast wasn't the best hotel breakfast and room air conditioner was very loud. Right by the freeway, although it was surprisingly quiet. It would have been nice to have the sink and mirror area of the bathroom separate from the toilet and shower. I was sharing with a friend, and mornings would have gone more quickly if they were separate. Parking was awful. Not enough parking had to park out in the street. bathroom door not station right as door blocked the front door when open. not enough blankets. N/A. no balcony. Musty smell of hallways. Parking extremely hard to get in & out of. No sign in dark paring garage pointing to elevator. Patrons in room next to us partied with 10 people until 4 A.M. parking spaces cramped. There were no restaurants close, like around a corner or within a block. With nothing close, would have liked availability of room service. I had no hot water for a shower for the evening. Not until the late am. The hotel staff that checked me in. The bathroom door not staying open. location. Nothing. no restaurants within a short walking distance. my reservation was for king bed and i got a queen. My room was directly on the highway and I could not sleep because you could hear every car driving by. The windows had sheer curtains and the lights from the highway were shining in all night. The bed was horribly soft and squishy. Needless to say, I could not sleep at all and had to lay in the bathroom on the floor and shut the door so I couldn't hear the highway traffic. Two hours of sleep was all I got and a very sore back. For $220, I thought it was extremely overpriced. Noise from the freeway. Mildew on grout in tub. Hallways smelled smokey and stuffy. Some workers were uniformed, impolite and just rude. Roaches in room was terrible enough but being questioned that I was incorrect about it with no apology was horrible. Shuttle to seaworld was also at inconvenient times. What can I say! I was treated worse of the worst!.
