The rooms and grounds are classic Key West, with decor and tropical feel to make any getaway perfect! The pool area was quite and relaxing. We spent 7 hours over our four day stay just lounging out. The Suite, room #120, with a private deck was fantastic. The private deck has a table and chairs for 4, plus a private lounge chair. We made some friends and had drinks one night. It is a great spot to hang out (plus it is partly secluded). The local area had a lot of little hidden treasures but was.
all reviews » The staff at Westwinds were great. They helped us with a late check-in, were very friendly, and were always available to help. The concept of the Inn is awesome. They have several separate "bungalow" type buildings with two or three rooms each. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the complimentary breakfast next to the pool was good, and the location of the property is as good as it gets. You can easily walk or bike to Duval Street and to the main attractions in the Island. It was close to everything, but far enough off the beaten path so it was quiet and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable. We liked that we were allowed to leave our bags there before and after check in, and were even offered to use the facilities after we checked out and before we had to leave to catch our ferry. This was a very nice and appreciated touch. My girl friend and I were staying in key west for one night. It was close to many of the typical tourist attractions and some off the path local spots. We were able to rent a scooter and have it dropped off at the hotel. No kids! 2 pools were nice even though we didn't use them. Small room but we were only there to sleep and change clothes. Great place. We liked our room a lot. We had a king bed with a room with a couch and 2 chairs. Near one of the pools. The trees and foliage was spectacular. We can't wait to come again. Hubert was especially nice to us when we arrived. He helped us with our luggage, took them to our room and gave us some suggestions for things to do. 5 Star guest house in Key West. Not cheap (nowhere is round here). But beautiful house, well organised, clean room, magical gardens and pool. Stay here if you are in Key West!! Best stay we had on 2 weeks in Florida. Walking distance to the harbor and all facilities. Wonderful breakfast with eggs and fresh fruit!. A lovely pleasant hotel with lots of character. Suite well equipped with microwave, kitchen sink, large fridge, plates etc. Convenient location. Really good breakfast. Pleasant and helpful staff. 2 great swimming pools - one heated. We parked in the street opposite the hotel and had no problems. Everything !!! This was not our first stay at Westwinds in Key West, and won't be our last. It's within walking distance to Old Town Key West and a very comfortable and relaxing resort. We just love it !! We had a great time and look forward to going and staying there again. Very nice garden with loads of different trees and palms, 2 embedded pools and for american standard a good breakfast with fruits and delicious cinnamon donuts. Also very good located, only 5' to Duval street and to the historic harbour. Mallory square is approx. A 10' walk. A very relaxing hotel offering a tranquil and relaxing stay. Lovely shady and sunny with 2 pools and with your own rooms never more than 20 steps away. Breakfast is available in a secluded setting and never seemed rushed. It is located close to the main centre of Key West. Really friendly staff - particularily the breakfast staff and house keepers. Breakfast included - good variety. My husband would go back for several of the guava and cheese danish. Ground are well maintained and the two pools are nice - warm and cold. The outside landscaping was really great. So calming and cozy also! Wanted close to the water for great seafood, and was not disappointed. Late evening relaxing outside was awesome. The room was comfy and completely adequate. Would stay there again. The pools are beautiful. The plants and entire complex are kept beautifully clean and neat. The staff is friendly and helpful. Short walk to Duval street but far enough away that while relaxing around the pool it is completely quiet and peaceful. The first room was small but nice and clean. later moved into an wonderful 2nd story suite with a deck. It was wonderful. The pools and the breakfast were great. The tropical landscaping and atmosphere was the best. Hubert on the desk was terrific. The morning breakfast was very charming. The girls set up breakfast earlier than the alotted time because we were there & they did it graciously. Coffee was great & the food was all fresh. The facility was clean in every way. Loved the pools, so relaxing after a long day of walking. The staff and the continental breakfast were also very good. About 5 blocks from main shopping and 2 blocks from wharf. They keep there property very clean as was our room. Staff eager to provide info about anything..recommending places to go, etc. Excellent breakfast included..gorgeous grounds, small pools, walking distance to downtown, harbor area, sunset bar, no need to drive during our stay... No parking. The room was a bit outdated and A/C unit was very noisy but it didn't stop us from getting a good night's sleep. No conditioner only shampoo. WiFi didn't work. The price was a little high. But we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Maybe we can come back some day. nothing - it was all good. Not a thing !!!. Room we got was pretty basic and small but stil ok!. Parking is the only problem although there is street parking available if you look for it. There is a multi-storey a couple of blocks away for I thing $10 a day. However don't let this put you off. Rooms were really basic (which is fine)...window AC units can be loud(ish) and while minor.....I really would have liked hair conditioner (better quality toiletries) in the bathroom. Luckily there's a CVS and Walgreens on Duval Street. We stayed in room 104 right beside the office so it was a little weird to open our door and be right at the office. It was awkward to walk through the office to go out back to the pool so we walked around the outside of the buidling instead. I think we would have been a little more comfortable in one of the rooms near the pool. This is just personal preference and our room was clean and neat like the rest of the complex. Because of the location, there is no long term parking facilities. You have to drop off your bags in the drop-off spot in front of the hotel & take your car elsewhere to park for the duration. Fortunately, there is a public parking facility about 2-3 walking blocks away. Our room was older than we expected, and I don't believe our bed was king size which we asked for. They do have more modern rooms which we didn't realize when we booked on line. My husband was also upset because our towels were small and scratchy. Nothing. Hotel could use some room upgrading for price charged but it was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom floor was lower than bedroom and I suggested to hotel to add a matt on floor for safety. I had to go back to nj. Parking more parking. Rug in room was stained and a bit worn Balcony outside room needed to be cleaned Maybe a little more variation for breakfast, ok but just average These are tiny little complaints, otherwise it was a great place to stay. The available amount of public parking could be better. - extremely small room, even for 2 persons. Not even enough room to properly store our luggage. Had to leave stuff on the ground. - very thin walls. The room was clean except for the floor. A coffee maker in the room would have been useful and also to warn people about the mosquitos. We didn't had much choice with breakfast. The pools were kinda small, but we didn't really use them much so it didn't matter. The floors in the room need to be washed more often and the underneath of the bed needs cleaning. Otherwise, it was a most enjoyable stay. Nothing i did Not like. Bathroom a bit worn, room small, Eaton St is noisy with traffic, but ac noise muffles the sound. The smell on disinfectant was so strong we had to leave with the ac on and the window wide open. I would suggest finding a cleaner with a neutral aroma. not a fan of the shower - low water pressure and did not care for the half glass shower. I would have preferred a room off the entrance but this is a great place. no pool towels available the first evening. Something was leaking in the bathroom. They started to fix it after reporting. None. Overcharged at garage. Should have been $10 per day. Charged $ 20 per day. Room could use some updates. Softer towels. Need hooks in bed room. Like all of Key West, the price was very high for the accommodations. I'd rather go somewhere else. we felt the cleanliness of our room could have been better. Lots of dirty corners, but didn't really affect the quality of our stay. nothing. The suite had no safe and none were available at reception. The storage facilities in the bedroom were musty but the suite was clean and well appointed throughout. My only complaint was the towels were very old and dingy and the staff did not replunish paper cups and no extra bathroom supplies.
