We really enjoyed our stay at the Artist House on Fleming. We were in town for a wedding and stayed the 1st four nights at a beach resort and then switched over to the B&B for our last 3 nights. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The owners are lovely people who are very friendly and willing to help with whatever you need. The breakfast was great with a wide assortment of fruit, cereal, breads, coffee and tea. The accommodations were lovely and the place was very nicely decor.

The air conditioner in our room worked well and felt wonderful when we returned to the room after a full day of activities. It was very hot and humid when we were there. The B&B is a beautiful old Key West house. Its interior is well chosen and makes you feel like home. Our host Joe was terrific and made us feel welcome from the beginning. We enjoyed both the happy hour and the lovely breakfast in the patio. The onsite bike rental is also a big plus since riding the bike is the best way to get around in town. Whats not to like, everything was perfect. Trevor welcomed us and was very helpful. The artist house is a charmful gem in Key West. We would not hesistate to stay there again. Breakfast was perfect with Even a little champagne. And the happy hour was fun and we meet å lot of great people there. Everything was good from helping us get there the first day to last day breakfast. The location is excellent, we parked the car the first day and then we just walked the rest of our stay. The staff was very nice and friendly and breakfast was perfect.We would consider staying there again. All needed comfort is present. With our late arrival, the staff made it easy for us by leaving our key and instructions behind. An email was sent prior to explain what to do upon arrival. Toilet handle was broken and was fixed immediately after we reported the problem. The many wonderful spots outside - porches, patio, jacuzzi side - to enjoy the vegetation and breezes of Key West. The bed was a little uncomfortable and too soft so we woke up with sore backs. But I'd rather it be too soft than too hard. Also, since it is an old house the hot water took a long time to come on, but once it did there was plenty of it. We stayed in the Hemingway Suite. The mattress was uncomfortable -- too soft -- and the sheets wouldn't stay on the mattress. The shower was marginal with minimal soap and shower gel. Nothing. The rooms on the ground floor are located near the entrance and it can be noisy if people enter late. Difficulty to find parking. We stayed in Geiger Suite and the double bedroom has the AC right next to the bed, so it blows right in your face or back while sleeping. Air conditioner in the room was noisy, had to turn off at night. None. I will be staying there again. We really don't have much to complain about. The only thing is that we heard alot of noise bring next to the kitchen, but it was too bothersome. Sheets were not changed in between nights and there were too many flies in the bedroom. The shower was very tiny. annoying loud waterfall noise in the teeny, tiny pool, no surface to put anything in bathroom, coffee cups were dirty, need to be hand scrubbed. The only thing was that it was hard to get around the bed in the second bedroom BC of the slant of the ceiling. little cramp for leisure sitting in room. Nothing really. It may be a bit remote from Duval street, but that's on Key West scale - only 5 min walk :)). bed was terrible, slept on the floor the last night. staff was not resident, so our stay didn't have the intimacy of a B&B. Very weak shower, heard people on porch veryearly while i was trying to sleep playing a guitar, and clomping down stairs, i would not recommend the Simonton room because it is too noisy. A little far from the main drag, but fine if you don't mind a walk. Worth it to look at all the beautiful houses. Cleaning could be improved, we found some hair in the bathroom in the shower and the basinet when we arrived. The mattress is a bit old and too soft.
