The staff was very attentive, we had an issue in our room and it was handled immediately and professionally.The restaurant on property was wonderful and surprisingly resonably priced. Location could not have been more perfect...close to the sunset celebration and right on Duval. We were made to feel confortable and at home from the moment we arrived.Planning my next trip back already!.
all reviews » It was a nice staty at this hotel. The staff were nice and very frindely . The hotel facilities were clean and maintanted in a very good way. The location is perfect as it located on Duval Street which is full of nice restaurants and cafés . Location was the primary reason for choosing this hotel. Need to be able to access beach. Clean beach, water, ability to order drinks/food at the beach, etc. Also, location to duval street and Mallory square makes this a great destination. I loved that there was 24 hour security and the staff was very attentive to our needs. The location was perfect! It was one block away from all the action of Duval street and the private beach had excellent service. Very relaxing!. I can't say enough about our stay at Pier House. Best Location, private beach, great restaurants on premises, friendly staff, very clean. Cant wait to return next year.....No need for a car you can walk everywhere!!!!!. The location is wonderful. Right on the water with full view of beautiful sunsets. The gardens were well kept and very tropical. The beach was relaxing and very clean with plenty of lounge chairs of different sizes. Fantastic location.They have a lovely little beach and outside bar. Good little swimming pool. Breakfast on the decking was very enjoyable indeed.Large car park. Lounge with balcony and bathroom leading into bedroom also with balcony and bathroom, birth obviously with separate AC units and flat screen TV. Upon check in there was a problem with the rooms. Lee at the front desk handled the problem perfectly. You now have a life long customer. Jim. Staff good at both (mostly, although the service at the second meal in the restaurant was less good.). Location was good. The location is great , nice beach , rooms nice , very clean everywhere. Having to leave!!!. Nothing. The air conditioner in the room made the room smell damp and musty. Probably need to change the air filters on them more than 1x year. I was disappointed that there wasn't a beach attendant in the morning around 7:30. The hotel requests that their room towels not be used at the pool or beach, but there wasn't anyone around to get a beach/pool towel from if you wanted to swim early. It was a small annoyance, but an annoyance none the less. Quite expensive, but this was to be expected for the location. The "Chart Room" bar was quite small and with people smoking, it was a bit off putting. Everything was just fine. Couldn't book xtra nights, sold out. the weather it rained a bit to much at the time of our stay. The restaurant at the Hotel: Harbour View Cafe. The food was terrible and overpriced. We were aware that there was a topless area for guests, but the complete nudity at all areas of the beach and swimming pool was totally uncomfortable and against what we read as hotel rules. I thought it was pricey and the food at the restaurant was not that great. There needs to be tropical music playing in the beach and pool areas. For the price we had a view of the parking lot and no balcony or patio to sit out.Can Corona. check in was confusing,never went back into main lobby. Pool chairs always taken - even though not many people in pool area. Challenge to get towels at pool or beach. too expensive. felt overpriced - paying for location not total quality of hotel. noisy air con too high beds. Late checkin. It was a bit tough to get around in the building. Luckily there was a map. The reception staff were the least friendly I have come across in years both checking in and out. We cannot understand why they do not have umbrellas on the beach and poolside. The sun is extremely strong, especially for visitors from Europe. The result was we mostly went to Fort Zachary beach where they do have umbrellas and a good cafe with a substantial loss in revenue for the Pier House. Large and impersonal I forgot my uk:usa power adaptor and expected them to able to help but the best they could manage was "there's a radioshack 5 blocks away" Not acceptable in such a hotel. Paying for parking, thought it would be included in fee for room since parking is on site.
