I was born and raised in Buffalo. I live in LA now, and when I visit home, I stay here. It's low key, clean, quiet and right in the center of town. I can walk to the Old Pink easily. I sleep like a baby here. The only negative is the sometimes spotty availability of either hot or cold water. Showers are always surprising! The rooms tend to be huge, with big windows with views of the lake and downtown. Fridge, microwave and flat screen TV is all there, and all I need. Highly recommended.
all reviews » The Lenox Hotel is a piece of Buffalo history. Beautiful old building on the border of hip Allentown. While the Lenox is not a fancy, modern hotel, it is clean, comfortable and the staff are very accomodating. We walked the neighbourhood, beautiful old Victorians. Incredible. If you're looking for the likes of the Westin or a W hotel, the Lenox is not for you. If you're interested in charm, history and value, this is the hotel for you!. A classic hotel that has kept it's charm over the years. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and quiet. We were pleasantly surprised at the Lenox Grill menu and how delicious the food was. A stroll down the residential Irving Place neighborhood around the corner from the Lenox made a great first impression of the City of Buffalo. All the staff was great. Molly at the front desk was great. Helped us with all of our questions, very nice woman. The bar/restaurant attached to the hotel had great food and a fun environment. If I ever go to Buffalo again, I wouldn't hesitate to call and make a reservation. Thanks for everything. Old charming historic building but with enough updates for comfort. This is actually a residencial building with some rooms converted to hotel rooms, so you see a lot of people in the building that are not travelers. Not a problem but noticeable. Only blocks away from the Anchor Bar!. The hotel is old but it's very well kept and clean. It's in perfect distance to the border and the train station to major events. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Could not have asked for a better hotel to stay at. A vintage hotel with hardwood floors and 5panel solid wood doors, large room, pet friendly and pleasant staff. One of the cleanest, neatest hotels I've ever been in. The location is excellent. Located in a nice neighborhood. Enough modern amenities that you don't feel like you're in an old building. The hotel was historic and charming. This is the hotel Mark Twain used to stay in!. i like the staff very polite. Having a floor to ourselves. Location, staff. Our view from the 8th floor was spectacular, pillow top mattresses, charming vintage tiles in the bath, fridge and microwave, and a wide- screen tv. We like pre-war buildings but this one needs repair. The spartan room was at least clean and quiet. The room included a freezer and cooker so I guess it was designed as a studio flat. It was close to downtown Buffalo and some major streets. Lobby was nice. location. Nothing!. Nothing. There wasn't anything that offended!. Nothing stands out as being bad. No real complaints. Room was clean and comfortable. Not as modern as a chain hotel but for the money saved it was completely worth it. No receptacle in the bathroom. Not a deal breaker though. The only ice machine in the building is in the lobby. No complaints. Older but nicely updated. elevator broke but was fixed later in the day, very few electrical outlets available in the room. I asked for a smoking room, but there were no ashtrays:(. Beds were a little plain. There was a dog that barked almost all night. I think the owner of the dog wasn't there. Poor thing probably had to go outside. Very frustrating!!. Staff kept questioning us every time we walked in to the main entrance as to why we were there, I guess they couldn't remember us and we stayed 7 days. No water pressure in the shower and the only temperature the shower or the sink had was scalding hot. All the furniture comes from Mark twains's times. bathroom was stuckwhen i got there we left at 11:30pm on 5/18 should there have been prorated on balance. bed was not queen size as stated. Water pressure and temperature. Not hot enough lukewarm at best. Pressure light like a sprinkle. No heat in the room changed us to another room same problem very disappointing. The carpet was very dirty, hallways narrow, room cramped, noisy, doors slamming, elevator is slow, bathroom needs repair, no shampoo or moisturizer. We were not comfortable and were eager to leave. Also, the price was 60% higher than what we paid in Niagara Falls in a much more comfortable hotel. This place, which was quite expensive, does not appear to be a hotel at all - it is more like an apartment block. People were coming and going with bicycles and dogs and one chap said he lived there but, hopefully, not at the price I paid. The bath had no plug at all and when I arrived there was the previous guest's rubbish in the bin. The place has no facilities at all; no restaurant, pool or gym. I am surprised that your firm has it on your books!. It's mostly an apartment building with actual tenants who live there. Most of them had dogs and other pets which I am severely allergic too. This was not mentioned in their website. Room smelled like smoke. No AC or fan. No sound insulation between rooms. Reminded me of a slumlord-run college apartment. Seemed more of a long-term stay/hostel-like atmosphere. no housecleaning no coffee shampoo etc for 1 person in a dbl room. Smell like mold dirty place. It doesn't tell you that this is primarily a appt complex 100 apartment 20 hotel rooms. Rooms are Out dated! No way to turn heat on or off! Tub leaked sink dripped all night! Bathroom was nasty everything broken so small you can't even get dressed in there. Will Never stay there Again!!!. Everything. The quality of rooms as specifically the Bathroom was poor. I don't see this a good price to quality match. can not open window, and there were no A/C. smell so bad. when I want to use cash to pay instead of credit card, was refused. this is not a good choice. I won't choose it again.
