We arrived to a great staff, great location. Wilson put us on the top floor with a fantastic view of Brooklyn. We had a 12 and a 9 year old with us and the hotel was close to the top of their list of sites that included all of New Yorks hits. 12 year old got sick and the staff let us check out late and even sent toast and ginger ale to our room. Less than 2 blocks from subway entrance and 10 minute ride to Times Square. Barclay Center can be seen from hotel window and a 10 min walk away. .
all reviews » We enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Brooklyn. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We especially thought Victor Balbi was most helpful, patient and accommodating with our needs for directions in getting around the City by Subway and planning our day sight seeing ny. He was always so pleasant & greeted us with his wonderful smile & friendly greeting when we got back from our day's outing. He certainly made our stay & visit to ny pleasant & enjoyable. Paul Inafuku & Joyce . The location was one block from the busiest mall area in downtown Brooklyn and point center of the Brooklyn gentrification or renaissance as some may say. It was walking distance to the Barclay center and major shopping. There is major construction in the area and the local side streets are still not to be traveled late at night. There is a nice club two doors down. Bring cash. Ride to jfk airport was $55…they do not have a shuttle bus. The facility was very clean. The staff with only two exceptions was very helpful. The exceptions seemed to do with folks who rushed and didn't take time. However out of a 4 day stay two exceptions wasn't bad. In both cases, staff who saw this stepped in and was very helpful!. Everyone is extremely courteous and professional. The front desk staff is very helpful and always making sure that the guests are taken care of. One of the servers named Juan was extremely kind and polite as well. Great to make his acquaintance. The location was perfect for a 15 minute walk to the Barclays Center. The reception staffer was awesome -- gave me a great room on a high floor. The price was a steal for the nyc area and it was an easy subway ride to and from Penn Station. The Sheraton Hotel Brooklyn had very good facilities. The breakfast in the lounge was very nice. The staff were very friendly and helped guide us around New York. I had a great time here and would recommend it to anyone. Great staff, kind, helpful. Clean room, nice accommodations. Ease of walking to subway, restaurants, the heights, etc. I would definitely stay there again. We also had our children and grand children traveling with us. The room was very comfortable and clean, although a bit small. The hotel has got very good location, close to the subway station, with less than 10 minutes ride to Lower Manhattan. The neighbourhood is ok as well. Helpful front desk. Even though we arrived for breakfast as it was being put away (we were late), the hostess made sure we had a very satisfying start to our day and was extremely gracious about accomodating us. Staff was very accommodating, I arrive earlier then expected but needed to be at a business meeting prior to check-in and allow me to check in earlier at a CLUB VIP room for half the cost. The staff was very accommodating and very helpful in the evening, but not very kind in the morning. People are not the same. The room was very comfortable. The room was very nice, good sized for NYC, with great bath. The location was ideal, close to subway, restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. I loved the entire experience. The swimming pool and free breakfast were wonderful except for the coffee. The bed was divine. I loved our room and view. And the bartender Eli was amazing and friendly. So down to earth. The hotel's close proximity to subways. Able to get into Manhattan in about 30 minutes. The service and the room were excellent and a wonderful surprise for that neighborhood. The food and beverage price was too high. Both, Soda and ice machines should be on every floor. Other than that, the hotel is a favorite of mine. Nothing to complain about. We had a rental car and there was no parking. But after our day trip up north we didn't need it anyway. Lots of construction going on, although we found that to be the case all over New York City. Windows didn't keep out street noise even though we were on the 13th floor. Hotel location is in the middle of a construction zone and finding a parking, even in front of the hotel was difficult. I don't like the restaurant. The service was very slow and bad. I ordered something in the menu, they bring something else and also they bring breakfast from Starbucks and I waited for a long time. Extra charge for WiFi in the room, though free in the lobby. The hotel amenities close a bit too early (The Pool/Hot Tub) but really no issue or complaints. Id love to see more variety on the dinner menu. I think the room was way overpriced for what we got. There was one complimentary bottle of water, the other would have cost 3 dollars and change, and the room was small with a view of a construction zone. Also the shower was a little weird and ended up having water all over bathroom floor. Also we got back from a concert around 11 and were looking for room service but they had already closed. There's only free wi-fi in the lobby. You have to pay extra for it in your room. nothing i didnt like. The fact that my son and I stayed there two days so technically I thought we would receive a complimentary bottle of water for each day. They charged me $3.50 for a bottle of water on the second day. Location was not really downtown Brooklyn more toward Fulton street. Nothing. Nothing!!!. The starbucks coffee was horrible. You need to get some milder coffee besides the eat the lining of your stomach kind. lack of parking and inconvenience of self-parking and cost of valet parking. Lots of construction going on near the hotel , so the air quality outside the hotel was poor. Hotel restaurant not available late night, valet person ( on the morning of checkout) was rude & took very long to retrieve my car because valet # was "misread". On leaving I needed a Van but I was not advised that the cost of the Van would be $50.00. The Driver of the Van asked me if I had been informed of the price and that is how I found out the price. Area around the hotel not great, but very close to several subways, and close by public transport to Bergen stop with lots of cute restaurants and shops. We have not received the money back on my accout for incidental charges. We did not have any damages we respected the place like we would in our home. It should'nt take this long .for a $150.00 to be credit back to our account. Surrounding area a bit sketchy but never felt unsafe. Hotel Restraunt was closed, We had to wait two hours for our breakfast our first morning. We had to walk five blocks for breakfast every morning after that. Taxi drivers .. Many times had no clue where Duffield street or the location was ... Very frustrating and expensive!. Charge for Wi-Fi. Hard to believe that with the prices per room you are expected to pay extra for internet access. I thought the breakfast was a little expensive and that the valet parking was kinda push on to the customers, but we found parking right in front. I was double charged on my last day at the hotel (at the breakfast buffet), and after correcting the waiter, he simply added a single charge rather than cancel the previous ones. I am now being bounced between departments!. ice and vending on every-other-floor. Not Many restaurants near the hotel. I do not know the reason why, but would suggest to include breakfast too, as most of the hotels do. room size was small as a result furniture felt cramp. tv remote did not work properly. bathroom tile grout was dirty in isolated areas. Requested a view-got the 13th floor which did not warrant a view-since it has 25 floors!. Everything was very nice. Only one set of elevators were operational at the time. Overcharge for breakfast that was poorly staffed for the number of guests using the facility.
