Located on the seafront at Southend-On-Sea, with views of The Thames Estuary, Camelia Hotel is just one mile from Southend on Sea. It has good food, free Wi-Fi and free parking. The train station is only 5 minutes away and the airport is reachable in less than 15 minutes. London is a 45 minute drive away. The restaurant offers a good variety of fine food with fresh local dishes. A full English breakfast is served daily. The bar has an extensive wine list and guests can enjoy their drink on the patio, which has superb sea views. The bedrooms are colourful and have an en suite bathroom. They all come with tea/coffee making facilities and many of them have sea views. Suites are also available and feature private lounges, sea views, and a balcony/garden with seating area.

All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. As we travelled there on motorbikes they allowed us to store the bikes in a secure locked rear yard. Very friendly staff, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The standard of breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of menu. Good seafront location.Great position, good food, well decorated and good size rooms,in all a pleasant surprise. We would certainly recommend this hotel.

A bit of a walk from ammenities. Slightly over priced. room price was too expensive, we could not have a shower all weekend as the shower just dripped. Would possibly book again if the price was closer to £50 per room per night. Lightbulb broken; lavatory flush defective; plastic undersheet; dirty, hairy throw on bed; small double bed in single sized room - very cramped. Overpriced. The room was very poor for the price. Lack of air conditioning or fan - we went on a particularly hot weekend and couldn't sleep due to the extreme heat in the room. Cleaning needs improving - stain on toilet, tea/coffee stain on bedside cabinet when we arrived and chewing gum on bed covers after our room was cleaned. Uncomfortable old bed, hairdrier not working, toilet seat broken.
