This must be the flagship hotel in the Premier Inn chain...I Understand it has been open for around four years yet it looked as thought it had opened yesterday. The staff were all amazingly helpfull, nothing was too much trouble for them. I almost always stay in Premier Inns however the quality does vary considerably and I always leave feedback in the hope they will use my comments to improve those hotels that are not up to the mark. all reviews » Amazing staff, both on reception and in the restaurant. They were lovely and very helpful. I couldn't stay for breakfast and one particularly lovely man in the restaurant insisted on making me a bacon sandwich to take to the station with me. Wrapped in tinfoil, even had the bread lightly toasted to keep it firm, so thoughtful. He also put a few little muffins in the paper bag in case I wanted something sweet. He was cool - an act of kindness that made my day. Thank you sir! The beds are also fa. Very clean and modern hotel, easily accessed from the underground car park via the lift. Reassuring level of security throughout the hotel. Openplan Reception on the 4th floor was a bit strange but perfectly acceptable. Special mention to the wonderfully friendly and entertaining staff in the restaurant for breakfast. We were very impressed with the staff. Every member of staff we had contact with was helpful, friendly,courteous and personable. Moreover,they managed to be so with ease. They really made a difference to our stay and we'd be grateful if you could thank them. If we hadn't completed this we would have written to do so. On arrival the staff were more than helpful and very friendly. The room was modern, clean and cosy. During our stay we got the impression that premier inn' and all it's staff really care about the little important details that make a hotel great. Upon arrival I had some trouble with my bank card, the man on the reception, John, was very patient and very helpful and waited until I had resolved it with my bank, when we eventually checked in, the room was clean and modern and was overall very nice. Would recommend it and would definitely stay again. central location and ease of parking in the basement. Friendly staff and very modern decor and layout of reception/bar area. Drinks were reasonably priced too so did not feel paying over the odds. Liked late bar hours too making it easy to chill and relax late into the evening. I particularly liked the high level of security in the hotel. Needing room keys to access floors in the lift and the doors as you come out of the lift, I felt very safe, and satisfied my belongings would be when I was out. The shower was very relaxing. It's clean, easy to get to and accommodates 2 adults and older child in same room keeping costs down. Soap in dispenser at sink and shower rather than silly little bottles kettle with tea making facilities - even better if fresh milk available from bar. The stay was excellent, in all areas. The room was spotless and comfortable, and probably the quietest hotel I have stayed in despite being busy. The staff were attentive and helpful, particularly at breakfast when it was very busy, great quality food. We loved the ample space in our room and the people working there were extremely friendly, much better than many other hotels we've stayed in. The amenities were excellent and overall we felt that our stay was among the best we've had in the past. Very comfortable beds and pillows. When I saw the price of breakfast I thought what a rip off at £8 but it was worth it. Well cooked, choice of eggs and wonder of wonders porridge. Very handy for Eccleshall Road and the Colliegiate Campus. Free parking in town, which is not common for the more affordable hotels in Sheffield. The room was a bit stuffy even with the heating controls on low and the fan on high. The room keeping was non existent regardless of our stay only being 2 nights. Nothing. Everything was brilliant. For some reason my husband and I did not sleep very well at all. My husband can usually sleep anywhere at anytime. A lot more expensive on a Saturday when it looks to be primarily a business venue with the meeting rooms. Lighting in room is too dim tv screen is pretty small, could be bigger without being massive. Car parking is limited - had to park on road. Took a few minutes to find the entrance!. There was no mini-fridge in our room. We were on the top floor and could still hear a bit of traffic and the aircon noise. But it is a city hotel on the ring road. No direct phone number only a premium line which was annoying. The lift being out of order and also your non helpful night staff called John. Phones have been removed from rooms, which left me feeling a little vulnerable. I don't like having to pay for wi-fi (though the first 30 mins is free). It felt a bit mean. Being called "mate" repeatedly by one waiter. No free wireless. Washing basin inside (it suppose to be in the bathroom). No refrigerator inside. No "view" from my room's window. A very small hand basin with no plug in the disabled bathroom. Pillows Thing on entrance to car park - in front of ticket machine, a low level barrier, yellow & black stripes, but VERY difficult to see when trying to negotiate your car close enough to the machine to reach the ticket through the window - and when car is in right position, impossible to avoid bumping into this barrier. From the state of it, lots of people do this, no idea what it's role is & now we have a scratch on our 6 month old car - thanks a lot!. The television is so small in the big room... Sink in the room not in the bathroom, disturbs family members, car park very limited spaces and hard to swing into, dampness on walls and carpet in lobby area. The fact that the sink was seperate from the bathroom was the only thing we saw as a dislike. No food available at lunchtime. Fire alarm went off twice in the night. No response from reception. Found 1st event was a guest, second was fault in system. No phones in rooms, only provided one bath and one hand towel despite it beign a double room. Nothing. shower head broken. The lower carpark was flooded, as it was a busy night due to a major music concert in the city , no upper spaces were available. It happens but it really could do with some type of releif drainage down there. The lack of a phone in the room & the lack of a bath in the bathroom. Nothing x. Only one lift working being on floor 12. Restaurant could be better service and food choice and specials. Better beers in bar would have been nice. The wash basin is outside the shower room, which we did not like. For some reason we were given a room designed with facilities for people with disabilities. Not enough parking spaces. We had a early check out.
