Tides Reach Hotel is a pretty seafront hotel with free Wi-Fi, free parking, lovely views and leisure facilities. Salcombe’s bustling harbour is a 2-mile walk along the scenic coast, or a 20-minute ferry ride. On the doorstep are sandy coves, scenic coastal walks and sea-swimming. The hotel’s boathouse, an old life boat station, is on the beach and provides facilities for wind surfing, sailing, scuba diving and canoeing. Tide’s Reach’s indoor pool is a luxurious tropical suntrap. For further relaxation there is a sauna, spa bath and a beauty spa. There is also a squash court, gym, table tennis and a full-size snooker table. With a TV, free tea/coffee and a free bottle of Devon water, each of the spacious rooms also has bright décor. All rooms have a tiled bathroom, whilst many have views of the gardens or coast. The restaurant at Tides Reach serves freshly caught seafood dishes, and guests can enjoy cream teas and lunches overlooking the sea.

Just everything, I think perhaps they upgraded my single room. The view from the window was just stunning, breakfast was SO good, properly hand made using good ingredients, just such a treat to stay there. Staff were friendly, and helpful, the décor was lovely, ditto the room. I'd stay there again, no question of that, and such a perfect location within stone's throw of the beach. The hotel was very comfortable and staff friendly. The general atmospher was upmarket , with both guests and staff very polite. I have mobility problems and when I asked for a room near the lift , my request was instantly granted. I would thoroughly recommend a balcony room and the food was absolutely delicious.
all reviews » The freshly cooked breakfast made with locally sourced products is of the highest calibre, and is served by a team of very well trained and courteous staff. The indoor pool complete with soothing large-sized jacuzzi is a haven of peace. The views of the Estuary from the bedrooms are breathtaking. We chose a premier room which had a lovely panoramic view of the estuary and duck pond.As we didn't get very good weather it was a good substitute for the balcony! The staff were extremely friendly and the food was really excellent. Worth more than its 3 stars. We could not fault service ,food was amazing ,views incredible ,hotel a little dated but very clean.We had a totally relaxing few days,staff we outstanding they couldn't do enough for us. Luigi ran restaurant with upmost proffessionalism. Peaceful location out of season, excellent food and service overall; our balcony room on top floor had good view of estuary, ferry etc and being able to hear the surf was a bonus. Excellent cliff top walks on door step. The warm & friendly staff added to the facilities of this hotel, with it's ideal situation, excelent food, & leisure centre. What was there not to like, just nothing..... I loved the hotel and position just hope I will be able to afford to return one day !. If you fancy a night-time drink in Salcombe be aware that - unless you splash out on a cab - you face a 30 minutes walk back to the hotel, including some steep uphill areas. However, it's quite 'doable' especially after a few pints, although it's probably best to carry a small torch. The South Sands - Salcombe Ferry (adult single £3.30) is the best bet during the daytime for travelling to Salcombe. Everything about the hotel is great. The access from north to south sands is a bit hair-raising as it is single lane, but everyone drives carefully so it's not really a problem. Pool and jacuzzi area could do with a spruce up. Plenty of fish on menu but chance to try local beef would have gone down well during our three day stay!!. Just the narrow approach to the resort. If the hotel has updates planned for the not too distant future then the good standards will be kept up. nothing. The bill at the end! The first question on this feedback from - we are a couple without children in our early forties - I don't think your categories cater for us!. Struggling to find something I didn't like. If I had to say something it is that the foyer/lounge decor is a bit dated, but not so the room and bathroom, which were excellent. Not much. Slighty expensive but is is Salcombe. Some of the staff showed their tiredness during service. Sat by the pond I always had to find someone to order, not enough attention to a very busy area of the hotel. Limited TV reception. No decaf coffee in room . Hills all round and narrow road approaches. Not a lot the hotel can do about that obviously!. shower was very weak. Hotel is lovely but expensive. The bedroom decor. The hills !!!!!!!!. Old fashioned decor. Dated reception and decor.

Travelling information

From Salcombe: - On the outskirts of Salcombe look for the turning right into Sandhills Road (signposted North & South Sands). - At the end of the road you will be facing the sea, turn right here. - Keep the sea to your left and follow the road past North Sands. Go up and over the next hill (which is quite narrow) into South Sands. - Once at South Sands, Tides Reach is right opposite the beach.
