The family room was an excellent size with a powerful shower and three full size beds. The staff were very friendly. It was in a lovely location a few miles from Oakham. We would definitely return. Relaxed atmosphere and friendliness of staff, nice food, clean and comfortable bedroom, easy access to local main roads.The staff were the friendliest people and couldn't do enough for you.

Hence when we sat down to eat at 7.10pm, the prices had risen, which for a single mum and two daughters, was annoying.Maybe the bathroom could be re decorated because of damp. not did not like - but found the resturant a bit pricey. Very close to quite a noisy busy road but still well worth a visit. The open fire in the bar was very nice. Room was a bit dirty - cobwebs/dust. Actually, I wasn't bothered but some people might have been!. The shower room floor was cold.Had problem with no cold water in the room, faulty tap I think.but gaveus bottled water until problem was sorted. only oil filled eletric heaters in the bedroom which took a long time to warm and no heating in the bathroom,the shower could have been cleaner with mould all round the shower and shower head was very dirty. Had room above the bar area. Not recommended if wishing to sleep before throwing out time!. It was too noisy we could not sleep. Customers in the bar talked loudly directly under our room until 0200am then came to their rooms talking and moving loudly. We could hear just about everything the people in the room next to us said and did and they talked at intervals of 0100, 0200, 0300 and 0400 hours!. Would have preferred a more traditional pub menu (lacking in pies).
