All the staff are excellent very helpful and friendly.Room was spotless and a lovely comfy bed.The breakfast was well cooked and there was plenty of choice. The evening meals were also very good ,with a good varied menu. the biggest plus was the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff. this is the 2nd time we have stayed here and would come again. cleanliness excellent, good food and central location for exploring north yorkshire.
all reviews » Very clean and friendly hotel, we had a meal in the bar area and it was well presented and good value , drinks are typical hotel prices but reasonable choice. The room was ok nothing special but spotlessly clean. The room was very comfortable with excellent facilities Evening meal was exceptional All staff were helpful and friendly I found the area was central with easy access for travel to most of my business areas. Despite looking on Google maps that it's in the middle of a light industrial estate, the actual surrroundings of the hotel are very pleasant - a pleasure to sit outside in the morning to enjoy a coffee!. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Restaurant quite good, which is just as well given it lies on the outskirts of town at bit. Quite comfortable venue. Rabbits on the lawn were fun to watch. Quiet. nothing to dislike. could not fault in any aspect. As a frequent user of this type of hotel it has many good points but l feel £80 for bed and breakfast slightly high. Breakfast was not exceptional , food (even toast!) kept in hot containers too long and therefore not at its best, no service apart from clearing empty plates. Bath towels are too small. if travelling by train it is a little bit of a walk, and would take 15 mins to get into town from the hotel itself. Nothing to dislike. Loved everything. A hint of tension. Perhaps some staff afraid they get it wrong ? Not sure and only became apparent when I became intrigued at how efficiently run the establishment was, so really not a problem. Room chilly until 2300hrs when heat seems to have come on. No staff on duty after 2300hrs. No complaints at all. Had better evening meals. But only a small criticism. I would have liked an anti-slip mat in the bath but I did find out later that they were available. It would be good if there were a note in the room to tell you they are available. Small towels, Sharp shelves next to the beds, Breakfast finishes too early. not applicable. Bed was too firm. Bathroom could have been a bit warmer. Public areas lacked any sense of character or atmosphere. No laundry facilities. More info re eating places - most were closed on Sunday and Monday and we like variety in our venues. Lack of fresh milk in the rooms. Nothing. A bit soulless. No food after 9pm Breakfast was very greasy. Nothing. Tired bathrooms. No dissatisfactions. N/A. bed was the uncomfiest bed I have ever slept on. A bit pricey - but we did book at short notice for a bank holiday weekend. expensive for just bed and breakfast one night check in 2pm check out 10.30am. No rails to help elderly in and out of bath which itself was very slippy. Poor quality toilet seat lid, caved in when sat on. Odd arrangement of very low shower head, fixed locations of shampoo and bath gel out of reach from bath.
