I liked the spotlessness of the accommodation, hotel and restaurant and the food, the nearness of beach towns to visit. The choices available in menu. Pleasant service, uncomplicated booking in and out. Excellent staff, very helpful, my husband and I both use small mobility scooters and all the staff went out of their way to assist with doors, etc. Disabled access room spot on for our needs.
all reviews » Locality to family we were visiting, also local Dartmoor National Park, which we enjoyed very much. Over looking Newton Abbot racecourse, and close enough to seaside and beaches. The Premier Inn was very good, staff and location excellent unfortunately the cost was not comparable with other locations so would not book again for this reason. Right next to the racecourse,which was the purpose of my visit. Very friendly,cheerful and helpful staff at all hours ,also in the Beefeater grill. Friendly, efficient, kind, courteous!!! The beds were comfortable, the restaurant was convenient, the parking was large enough. The cleanliness of the place, the room was well furnished and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel only 10 minutes from town railway station being adjacent to Newton Abbot Racecourse was very quiet. WE, my mother and I had a lovely stay at this Premier Inn and hope to come back again later in the year. close proximity of Beefeater Restaurant, and the assistance from Premier staff to make a reservation. the staff were helpful and friendly also in the Beefeater next door they were just as good. Service, staff, cleanliness of room and facilities were excellent. Would recommend. spotlessly clean, comfy bed power shower. only stayed one night no complaints . The location was good and the staff excellent knowledgeable and very helpful.The staff were very helpful with our initial problems providing us with a new room from our third night and reimbursing us the fee for our first nights stay. I had Everything in the room that was necessary. Asked for an Ironing board on the last night and one was in my room in minutes. Although the iron and board were older than gods dog. Location. Breakfast was included in the rate but the restaurant was not attached to the main building and it was raining so you got wet when you went to eat. The comfortable bed. The staff were nice. It was very clean. very clean big bed nice room. concrete view from window, but its not important, we were beside the racecourse, but that made no difference as very little sound permeates the room. We were surprised that the accessible room was not. Nothing comes to mind. The Grandstand - Brewers Fayre - associated with the Premier Inn at Newton Abbot was extremely disappointing and we would not recommend it - there were several issues which we raised with the manager at the time. The housekeeping was hit and miss. We never knew how many towels we would have or if the pillow cases would be laundered... Nothing. Only 1 bath and hand towel for the room, soap dispenser in shower did not supply any soap. Not enough information in room (ie no information on checking out times or opening times of Beefeater restaurant. No price flexibility when I enquired about extending our stay at the hotel. Happy with every aspect of our stay. It wasn't value for money at £204 for 2 nights as the rooms are very basic. I used it because the racecourse was next door, perhaps that is why the rates seemed higher that weekend. I would expect lower rates if I was to use again when coming racing. no fridge in the room for my babies bottles, no plug for the electric shaver in the bathroom and sink plug repeatedly stuck. bed not very comfortable. toilet paper dispenser, awkward. needed more coffee and tea etc curtains a poor fit. The beefeater next door was getting very bad reports from everyone on the wait for food and the food was not very good so we did not want to chance it. Breakfast was £9 per adult, you can get a large breakfast with a tea for £5 down the road. For almost £80 a night, you would think this was included. Nothing to comment about. No windows opened. nothing. No phone to reception. As I am disabled I was unable to use shower as I was unable to get in the bath. Our first room had a very noisy air/con motor and to be able to get some sleep we had to turn all power to it off then waking up bathed in sweat and have to turn it back on. The mattress was very hard like sleeping on concrete. The windows could not be opened making it very claustrophobic especially for my wife. If you have a cell phone on Orange or Vodafone, as soon as you walk through the main door you loose all reception, then have to pay for Wi-Fi. conspiracy?. No clock, no safe and no mini fridge. I would only recommend this type of accommodation to anyone who is only staying one night because the rooms are pretty basic. There were no telephones in the room. No windows to open, so no fresh air. More toiletries would be nice. Bottle of water on arrival. The above is allowing for the price we paid, which we thought was a little on the high side. noisy fan noisy plug during night room freezing when arrived.
