The position is excellent and though set back and quiet, it is right next to a large Tesco and the M62 junction, at one end of a pleasant village with a lovely park and several eateries and within a few minutes walk of the Metrolink station which takes you right into the centre of Manchester. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable and the breakfast plentiful andwith more than adequate choice. There is a freephone to call a taxi and free wi-fi for half an hour a day.
all reviews » For being such a budget hotel the staff are exceptional. I got better service from this place than other hotels that I have paid a lot of money for. From entering the building to when we departed we spoke to three different members of staff who provided the same level of service. I would definitely visit again. Good breakfast (tgi), free carpark, superstore with petrol stations just 2 mins by walk, and it's super silent good to relax. The staff were wonderful, rooms very cosy and beds super comfy, kids loved it didnt want to cum home, wonderful small break. Very friendly staff, everything you needed was there, staff rang us a taxi and let us check in early. Hotel was ideal for the purpose of my journey. Very clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. very good shower and the bed was very comfortable, also tea and coffee was very good. - Comfortable, warm beds. - Lovely breakfast and nice restaurant. - Quiet at night. The wait for breakfast was an hour. - No toilet paper. Had to ask for some. - No extra pillows available at reception, even though cards are left in bedroom advertising them. - No decaf coffee in room - don't want a caffeine drink before bed!. All ok. TGIF restaurant next door for breakfast, was poor at best! Didn't get what I asked for regarding my cooked breakfast. An American restaurant you would expect fresh coffee but it was awful!. Not so far from the Metrolink, approx. 10 minutes walk. I don't like the shower over the bath and hope it will soon be upgraded to a proper shower. You need to provide a non-slip bath mat in every room. Breakfast - hot food is not self service and took one hour to arrive after we entered the restaurant (TFI Fridays). Cold food, toast is self serve and fine. Next to a busy road. Nothing. Sound insulation seemed poor even though I was in the extension, which I presumed was newer , I could hear the motorway traffic with the windows closed. Chewing gum outside front entrance. nothing. food. Lack of second hand towel.Lack of telephone in bedroom. Soap dispenser on wall in bathroom. Nowhere to put a toothbrush. No freebies in the bathroom. Bedroom window only opening a few inches, resulting in a very hot and stuffy bedroom. Dreadfully loud music in TGI Fridays. Requested that volume be turned down as we, a party of 6, could not hear one another at table when having dinner but sullen waitress simply replied she could not turn it down. No apology. We left.Will never eat there again. I did not like lack of information given we booked 3. Late checkouts and got told in the middle of the night it's an extra 20 per room. It could be cheaper. Poor access. Need to find TGIFriday and go round the side. Rooms are cold. Max temp is 23C. They provide fan radiator but it dries the air and we cant take it. Company policy restricts this max to conserve energy but the result is clients using the most expensive electricity to keep warm. We were offered the Guaranteed Good night payback.not arrived yet. Breakfast next door was overloaded with guests.one toaster for everyone. Try and get a car park facing room as lots of traffic noise when in rooms at rear. Very basic.Only one handtowel provided unless you requested another.No toileteries provided. No telephone or intercom in room. No on site breakfast. Greeting staff deliberately questioned me about my nationality 3 times. It made me feel very uncomfortable. It is non of their business what my nationality is, especially if I declined the answer 2 times. It was rude and disrespectful. Door slamming during one of the nights. Breakfast completely disorganised - had to ask for boiling water and milk for tea. Most things had run out when we came down at 0830 anyway and not replaced unless one asked.
