We used this hotel on our way to France as part of a motorcyclingholiday We have nothing but praise for this excellent accomodation , theproprioters made us very welcome despite us arriving several hours lateand could not have been nore helpfull . The hotel itself was imaculateand finished to a very high standard . We would use it again withouthesitation and would highly recomend it to anyone.
all reviews » We enjoyed the breakfast (last time we stayed there we only wanted toast. This time we had the full breakfast and it was delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We also liked the tea and coffee making facilities.The amazing englich souintryside, complete with rabbits running in the field outside my window, and the sheep grazing on the other side of the road. The staff were very welcomming, it was cosy and pleasent just likestaying at home. No forced pomp, lovely place. So clean and friendly. Exceptionally helpful staff across all areas of hotel. Traffic noise was bad at times, although it didn't stop me sleeping.Lack of separate guest facilities. single rooms small, furniture large and awkward for room, both single rooms I have stayed in look out onto flat roof with enormous flue/chimney that makes a loud noise all day (turned off late in evening). Rooms stuffy if windows kept closed. Apparently no single rooms on the other side of the hotel. If I came again I would have to consider taking a double room, in order to avoid this problem.The bedroom window did not shut and being right next to the A27 road it meant we had a very disturbed sleep. The bed. Very basic breakfast included, but fine for short stays. Close to main road so some traffic noise. An ideal hotel for short business trips or overnight stops, but not so suited to holidays. No Breakfast available @ 8pm. noise from dual carriageway intrusive. no breakfast was served as advertised. 1st day Mrs Galvin had a front room which was very noisy. After our second night no one turned up to provide breakfast. We have not had a refund as yet. Due to this we could not recommend the hotel but would probably try it again ourselves, if in the area, to judge better when the bar was open and, hopefully, breakfast was provided. Limited menu due to limited guests. Food was ok but could havebeen better. Initial impressions are important but it took a while to attract someone's attention when we were waiting at reception to book in. Our room was on the front of the hotel and it was very noisey in the early morning.extremely noisey being next to a very busy main road. Breakfast times could be improved 8.00am is a little late.not hotels fault but it is near on impossible to get a taxi from the newmarket inn!i waited 2hrs and had to drive in the end and following morning the same.Maybe the hotel could make arrangements with a taxi company or have a list of taxi nubers that are acctually prepared to pick up from there. size of room and furniture mismatch. A lot of traffic noise, especially as the weather was hot and we had to have the window open. The bed was very uncomfortable and squeeky!. Traffic noise but couldn't be helped. Yes, went to breakfast at 8.15am and the breakfast room was closed, went again at 8.30 and was still closed. Breakfast was suppose to be 8.00 till 9.00. Therefor me and my friend went without breakfast along with three other guests. Was very disappointed as i had paid for this breakfast in the price.single room had no wardrobe or even a hook on the door. absolutely nowhere to hang up clothes. double room adequate. The proximity to the road made it seem like sleeping on the m25.ok. unfortunately there was no phone in ther oom nor public phone in the hotel. .the rooms near the front of the hotel faced the road and were quite noisy - just bring earplugs. wireless signal not very strong in thesame rooms. They neglected to service the room on Sunday. The room was only serviced one day during our stay of three nights.
