The location was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the acoustic music eve ning held on first Sunday of every month. Food was good with large portions just what was needed after a day walking up nearby Ben Lawers. Perfect location near the Loch Tay, huge quantity of the tastiest food for reasonable cost, very friendly and helpful personnel. Ideal for people who need calm and isolate rest in order to escape from daily routine in a megapolis.
all reviews » The staff and service in this little hotel couldn't have been better. The bar area was so comfortable and welcoming that we ate dinner there too and were really glad we did. The food was fabulous! Breakfast was excellent too. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We ate at the hotel and were quite happy with the cost for what we had. The meal was good.Big fluffy towels - bliss!! We would be happy to stay there again. the friendly atmosphere - nothing was too much of a problem for th e satff - the food was EXCELLENT and the overall experience was WONDERFUL. We travelled with a dog and he got loads of postive attention from the staff. A well chosen one night stopover on our way north and the pleasant welcome from Gerry.Nice cosy coal fire in the bar whilst having a excellant meal.Room 5 was good with added extra of spa bath in the ensuite bathroom. The only downside of this fantastic hotel was slight wear and tear in the room but this didn't detract from a great stay. The shower was a little bit erratic - cool then hot. Just one wee point,the bathroom lino could do with being replaced,torn around the wash basin. The hotel needs decorating and freshning up a bit, but this didn't spoil our stay at all. Nothing at all. Bathroom door didn't shut never mind lock and light bulb VERY dim, shaver light didn't work, 2 cups in room for 3 people, fire alarm at 5.30 in morning and had to go wake staff in caravan at back of hotel, no tourist info in room. Very minor but bathroom only had hand held shower head in bath but it was a jacuzzi bath so used that instead. :-). Small tv in bedroom. The room was slightly tiny, however it was extremely clean and well-kept. Aisle and rooms need a slight refurb. Nothing. The weather!!!. Poor flow hot water,bathroom Lino,very strong door closure. There wasnt anything to dislike. Lots of noise from the other rooms and some road noise. nothing important. opinion of individuals who comment bad things about this location shouldn't matter to normal ppl. no hot water when showering. nothing. the bed was awful very uncomfortable. Nothing. remote location with poor roads. Bed a bit uncomfy but nothing to worry about. N/a. No proper shower - it had a shower hose tap but no enclosure. The bathroom generally needs a bit of an upgrade. There was a bit of a sing song late on Saturday night which kept us awake. Creaky floorboards, no crib in the room as requested (thankfully took my own as a just incase). noise from downstairs, things getting moved late on and I think ppl going outside to smoke banging doors so my dogs would start barking with the noise. Too near main road. bed not very big. the owner needs to up date his web site in all aspects! especially the bedroom photos!! we got a room which was not shown on his web site ! a bit disappointed in this . a bit to remote with nothing else round about it.and no bus service to go to other nearby towns some days.the menu was the same all the time and the price of the meals were a bit overpriced. Bed was too small for a couple in room 3. The ceiling had a big crack, also holes in wall, shower was good, but bathroom was very small. No comfy chairs to relax in after dinner. Log fire in dining room wasnt lit and log burner did not throw out enough heat even though staff were very efficient at keeping it going. Lots of cosmetic touches need to be attended to. Carpets , floorboards loose , shaving light not working, little touches make all the difference. No hot water. There was. the shower was not fixed to the wall and the bath water was Luke warm.the Tv was very small.The food was over priced.The bar ran out of lager at 8pm. The double bed and the bunk beds were so uncomfortable that the whole family couldnt have a proper sleep on our first night. In the morning we discovered that the mattress was very old and stained, the staff changed the mattress for us but that didn't make any difference to provide us with a comfortable sleep and rest. Both the hotel and our room need updating. The room was small and the bathroom shabby eg mould on the blinds, nowhere to put anything ie toothbrush etc. Heater hangin off the wall and uncomfortable bed. Desperately needs some TLC.
