The restaurant. Evening meal - Though not the most efficient staff, found them to be very amusing to watch - rather like faulty towers. Food was excellent. Also have to mention excellent receptionest who did her upmost to house us in a room on a lower floor to accomodate less mobile guest, when we called to make a last minute reservation based on previous booking of two days prior on the net.

Stone Manor had a lovely "feel" about it a welcoming and well maintained old black and white manor house. We only had breakfast over our 2-day stay but the food was excellent, with alternative options available on request. Nothing seemed too much trouble!. Excellent hotel and great value for the high standard of accommodation.Although pricey dinner was first class. Good help provided at a small accident. The bathroom fittings were a bit tatty and not in keeping with the standard of the rest of the hotel.No vegetarian option for breakfast, which is not good enough these days: vegetarians are no longer a tiny minority!!!. bedrooms were a little tired and could do with modernising. The lighting in the room was very dim for applying make up.Lack of free wi fi facilities - lack of gym or swimming poool. Smell in corridor (not hotel fault) from another guest who put work boots and overall outside their room. I was a bit quiet. The matress in our room was much, much to hard - did not sleep.Restaurant expensive. The public areas were a bit cold in places - looks like they were trying to save on energy.The waiting staff at breakfast appeared disinterested and very slow to serve. The dinner menu was very fussy and expensive and . The decor was very tired and in definite need of refurbishment. I will not be staying at this hotel again. rooms need to be refurbished BIG TIME. new bathroom is necessary, new carpets on the floor, new curtains, new beds..Great bar area but closed at 10.30. Easy to get drinks from night porter but did keep having to walk to reception. One of breakfast staff less than warm and quality of breakfast not that good. I purchased the WiFi broadband service and it was difficult to use. The staff had no clue about how to use the service and I ended up calling the Swisscom technical help line.Bathrooms were incredibly outdated and in serious need of renovation, no alternative locking mechanisms on hotel doors, overpriced meals/drinks, not in line with prices on your website.
