The Lansdowne is centrally located on Hastings' seafront within a 5-minute walk of Hastings Train and Coach Stations. All rooms have en suite facilities, a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Most rooms have sea views and some feature a large LCD TV and a fridge. A full laundry service is also available. There are many shops, restaurants and bars 5 minutes away, including the Meadow Shopping Centre. The Old Town has many attractions including the Sea Life Centre, the Shipwreck Heritage Centre and Hastings Castle.

Location and see view, spacious room, comfy bed, decent shower, good welcome, and tea/coffee in the room. There were lots of leaflets in the room. The wireless worked well. There were some basic toiletries (shower gel and shampoo attached to the wall) in case you forget your own. The room also had a fridge, which was a bonus. There was a shop very near by - we bought fresh milk for coffee :) The place is being renovated - this did not affect our stay negatively in any way, but it shows that the.

Despite being on the sea front and a busy road in a first floor room, it was very quiet - I could just hear the sea rolling on the shingle, which was nice to wake up to in the middle of the night And by an extraordinary coincidence, the hotel had taken over the one next door - so I was sleepi. We had a first floor double room with balcony - Lovely view of the ocean. Our room and the bathroom was clean and tidy. We had everything in the bedroom what we needed. Very comfortable bed, hair dryer, cupboard, TV, kettle with some tea and coffee, shower gel and soap in the bathroom, nice towels and also ironing facilities. Staff very friendly and helpful! Very nice, massive breakfast with plenty of choice. Excellent value for money! We would book again :-). Arrived around 9pm and check in was speedy and a gentleman carried my luggage to a nice newly decorated double bedroom overlooking the sea. There was a fridge in the room, which had I been staying longer, would have been very useful, but I had to dash off after breakfast (delicious) the following morning. Thanks guys!. The manager arranged a brilliant upgrade for me - a room with a fabulous sea view, fridge and other useful kit. All were helpful and friendly. This used to be a slightly scruffy hotel but is rapidly reinventing itself and well worth considering . The room was newly refurbished and was very comfortable especially the easy chairs and the bed. It was a spacious room with a sea view. The shower room was excellent too. The staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel was in a lovely position right on the front at Hastings and near the shopping centre and a choice of eating places. Our room had obviously been recently refurbished and was clean and comfortable. Location cannot be faulted, it's right on the sea front. My room was small but clean with a modern well equipped bathroom. The staff are friendly and helpful. For the price it's definitely value for money. The balcony door had a very dodgy lock and could only be opened with extreme difficulty by the concierge (and not by me at all) - I think the fire inspectors would have something to say about that, since it was a first floor room and the balcony was thus a potential escape route for a panicking occupant in an emergency. Free car park wasn't available. But there was a car park next to the Lansdowne, 7Ł for 24 hours. That didn't affect our enjoyment :-). Minor point, but there was no hair dryer in the room. Having to come home :-( wished I could've stayed longer. The hotel is being refurbished so some of the paint work a little shabby,but our room was fine. Notices about fire precautions were not very legible Curtains were not hanging quite right. The lift was very small and quite difficult for us both to fit in. The greasy smell at breakfast coming from the kitchen was off putting. To be fair to the hotel they are obviously going through a refurbishment. However, the public bar area needs cheering up and the dining area better decorating above eye level and better curtains. As at 6.12.13 the lift was still not working and there are a lot of stairs to struggle up with cases. I think it's advertised as four star, but it's certainly not four star!. I stayed in room 10 so room 11 is very close therefore if the door is not closed gently it will wake you up as it slams if left to it's own closing mechanism! My room could have done with a small chest of drawers. These are minor observations which did not really affect my enjoyment :). nothing to report. Very happy with the experience. Windows need cleaning and balcony swept free of cigarette butts. Bar dull and unused need brightning up. I do appreciate the hotel is in the process of refurbishment. Pity lift was out of order. Leaving... The hotel is being renovated but the corridors still look old and gloomy like many seaside hotels. Very weak lock on the door Hairs on the bed head !!!! Falling down curtain- looked neglected Very lumpy pillows. Parts of the Hotel are a little shabby,but our room had obviously been recently refurbished and was of a good standard. Poor decorative finishes in the room 24 I was given and the stairs are steep and lots of them with no lift except a service lift.The window only opened fully and I expected a visit from a seagull at one point. nothing. Very small lift that was rather unreliable. [not big enough for a wheelchair or pram]. weather lol was a bit windy and damp... The elevator was "out of service", requiring guests to take the stairs, quite a long haul for those on the upper floors. The noise from the pub nearby (we were not sea side but back side) Curtains were not long enought not touching the floor and not really backout, and load a lights coming from the main room door window to the stairs. Outside paint peeling, looked run down.(Fortunately inside looked clean and fresh) Bed mattress very hard. Nothing. Shower door was tough to close and curtains were a little ragged. Breakfast times were too early for us. the lift being out of order. Shared areas and stairwells were tired and looked shabby Breakfast was not included in the price which was not clear on booking advertising Extra price for breakfast was too expensive. Sometimes the room was a bit cold I suppose the central heating wasn't on? (Radiator not always working). The only minor "moan" would be about fellow residents smoking outside the front door. I had to walk through the "smog" as I left the hotel, but I understand that people want to smoke. Nothing. cant say there was anythink we didn't like ..a lovely hotel. Was a shame there was no lift and it was easy to get lost in the corridors, but it is a renovated building where two properties have been merged together. The stairs!. We was on third floor so a bit of a trek upstairs. Bar area a little lounge like than bar like. Breakfast area could of done with brightening up, maybe flowers?. Room was a little cold. Not having a working lift and 6 flights of stairs to our room. N/A. value for money but not 4*. would not have wanted to pay full price but very happy with what I got for the money. No complimentary biscuits in room and no nuts/crisps available at bar so went to bed hungry. no added luxuries i.e hand cremes, shampoo etc but ok for the money. Place was being renovated, so I am sure that the scaffold poles and boards on the stairs will be gone soon. No thrills hotel, ran out of toilet paper. Our room was one of the already renovated ones, so be careful which room you get. 4th floor room reached by appalling lift. Hastings itself was dirty, unkempt and there were drunks and druggies lying around. I saw a drug deal being done.
