Very nice location. Rooms warm and spacious. Breakfast was good. Lovely pool. Ordered 2 meals from the bar food was hot and fresh and the portions were huge.Big thank you to the house keeping team who let me check out later due to a hideous migraine. This was much appreciated. Location, m25 only 4 or 5 miles away for our trips to family south of the capital. Enjoyed all the facilities for those relaxing mornings. Made full use of the pool before a sumptuous breakfast prior to our trips out. Good, local pub a short walk away.
all reviews » Very convenient to where we were visiting. Good size carpark. Large, comfortable, clean, quiet room. Comfortable beds, good quality bedding & towels. The room was warm & we were able to adjust the heating. Breakfast was good. Relaxed atmosphere Really clean with everything that I needed for a one-night business trip, i.e., wifi, great price, comfortable bed, etc Lovely swimming pool Hotel is in Old Harlow which is a really quaint english village. It was my partners & I third anniversary & we were simply over whelmed my the facilities & the friendly kind staff..would deffinately recommend to anyone as it exceeds expectations..a very happy guest :-). Excellent leisure and room facilities. Brilliant swimming pool. Reception staff very helpful. Stayed two days and as I was working at night, I had my checkout time extended by one hour, which helped a lot. I liked that there was a clean swimming pool. A sauna. Jacuzzi. A beauty clinic. And I liked that the rooms was a really good value for money. The bed was comfortable for a standard. Very comfy and large room, superb bed and enjoyable pool, which was quite close by. Very nice breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Excellent value for money. I had said the booking was for a birthday and for no extra cost was given a room in the executive wing. Was very impressed with that attention to detail. Very nice room with good en- suite facilities. Lovely pool, Jacuzzi and Sauna. Had a relaxing break. Situated in very picturesque village. We had been very satisfied and reccomend it to other people. the setting is lovely, as is the building. we like to stay at a hotel with a pool, which on the whole was a plus. The staff were very good at shuffling rooms, when we found out that the letsbookhotel.com reservation had gone missing. They also realised that the room recommended as a family room by letsbookhotel.com was not suitable for 3 beds, and were able to move us o a different room. It was an oldie worldly hotel. Typical black/white. Looked really nice on the outside. Reception was nice and the people were really good and helpful. Although I didn't use the pool facilities they looked very good. I didn't use the restaurant so cannot comment on that. We enjoyed very much the swimming pool. The restaurant is excellent. Bathroom on the small size & needs upgrading. Needs extra handrail over the bath. Shower control difficult to use for people with arthritis of the hands. Hotel in need of some external maintenance. Decor in the hotel was a little dated - I wouldn't be inclined to spend time in the bar or reception area Staff might have been a little more friendly and approachable but they were fine. The fact we would like to go back for new years eve but we think it's over priced at £95 per person. The tv had no freeview so when I watched tv I was very limited. The room service tray charge was slightly high especially for me and my boyfriend as were only young. Room was lovely but hotel a bit tired in places. The "leisure centre" was very disappointing. Filthy, smelly changing rooms, Lockers outside the changing area. You have to walk through the "gym" to get to the pool. The hot tub looked absolutely rancid and was broken. Nappy changing in the sauna area? It was a real shame as the rest of the hotel was better than this. THE BED AND THE TELLY! WORST BED EVER! could feel every spring, my husband slept on top of the bed clothes the second night. the telly should be religated to the dustbin. picture fuzzy, went off for no reason and came on by itself and too low to view in bed. The room was cold when we first went in so I turned on the radiator and we went out. When we returned the room was boiling hot so I opened the window, the window was not big enough to ventilate the room. The Sauna and showers in the sauna area could do with a refurb. The Jacuzzi could do with a clean out and refurb as there is peices of what appears to be sharp limescale which I almost cut my foot on. wallpaper peeling off walls in room and corridors. Window unit "blown" Changing area in leisure centre "tired" and could do with redecorating. Breakfast basic. Stairs to restaurant and bar. would have liked the volume on the tv, too low to use but can understand why people did not want it to "blare out". The hotel rooms need redecorating and the gym is very poor with sparse old equipment. n/a. Noisy guest next door!!. Difficult to find at night. Sinage and lighting at entrance could be improved but a minor complaint. bed way to soft the last room we had was very small for A double. nothing to report. The heating in the room could not be turned off. Could all do with a bit of a face lift, things starting to look a little weary. old out of date gym equipement. Rooms could do with a deep clean and minor repairs etc. old bathrooms. none. Staff attitude Hotel dated. The hotel is well used, and a little worn at the edges. The decoration in the room(s) and the windows was dreadful. Wallpaper peeling of the walls, paintwork needed redoing as was patchy and peeling in places.The window frames didn't look as though they had seen a good clean in ages and quite frankly really needed replacing. For a 4 star rating I thought it was very poor. It's a bit old and decadent. This hotel was once a luxurious place. Room a bit small and you could hear everything your neighbours were doing. Old fashioned windows and TV. Couldn't get a wifi connection. leisure changing area in desperate need of updating. The bed was a little soft. Could hear the TV from next room. Room had cobwebs, a sock hanging on the radiator and a continuous running tap in the bath. Whilst the breakfast was good value, the staff were flying around like blue bottles, almost knocking us over as they came down the stairs and abruptly cleared things off the tables. This spoilt a relaxing sunday morning. Hotel decor is looking a bit tired. Breakfast was not great. It looks like a business hotel but if I was a business traveller paying the rack rate (over three times what I paid) I'd feel ripped off. Did not like the fact that as I wanted to leave early in the morning breakfast would not be starting until 8am, there were no other options offered by reception - then breakfast started later than 8am and so I had to eat in a rush. Taxi fares into central Harlow negate some of the advantages of cheaper rate.. dirty and mouldy broken shower in sauna area. sauna old and dirty. smelly changing rooms. There was a general air of neglect; from rust around the pool to peeling wallpaper.
