Excellent restaurant. Wonderfully quirky hotel with a tremendous restaurant; Alias Hotel Barcelona is close to Exeter city centre and whilst on a busy through road is remarkably quiet. Staff were cheery, friendly and helpful.Thought the staff weren absolutely great and very friendly and polite even when under alot of pressure. Good quality hotel with individual character. Great cocktail bar.The layout was very different from that of a traditional hotel. its style.General style and ambience, which successfully strove to be "different", though not everyone would take to it. Staff were very friendly and helpful.Restaurant also very good (quality and service). The decor, very funky and unique. The cocktail bar was excellent. I was impressed by the attentive receptionists; the staff generally were very pleasant. The 'hand-crafted' toiletries are a plus - above average. Breakfast was good.Excellent food. nice and stylish public rooms. splash out on a pool. There was a cocktail bar from 6pm but no daytime bar. Better directions to the hotel - there may be a printable map online but I couldn't find it, and, from experience, it is not wise to depend upon a SatNav.It would have been nice to have had a gym. The restuarant was not really big enough to cope with demand. We were not able to book a table mid evening 24hours ahead.no draught beer. Bed mattress! Also, Cocktail Bar poorly patronised on Thurs and Fri nights we were there ... a shame and disappointing, as its well presented.Room was very small/cramped and also noisy due to lack of double glazing. The food, see above. Also there was a 2-3 year old child running around in the cocktail bar, not sure were the parents were but no staff seemed to be concerned about this.I found the mattress in the Barcelona hip-bruisingly firm, and the pillows provided almost no support. The TV was inadequate - small screen, poor signal. Room was very small for the grade of the hotel.
