The location for Edinburgh city centre was perfect, the bus stop wasright outside the hotel and took 5 minutes at the most to get you intothe centre, much quicker than by car. The owners were exceptionallyhelpful in all aspects including booking a taxi to our restaurant. Theroom was a lovely size and decor and it was all very clean. We wouldhighly recommend this as a place to stay. The proprietress was absolutely charming. She went beyond expectations for helping us w airline details, reservations, information, etc. She happily got up very early to provide a lovely continental breakfast for 2 of us w early flights. The tea and full breakfast were sumptious and delicious. Rooms smallish but well appointed. General decor, landscaping, etc were lovely!. all reviews »
The elegance and convenient location and the kindness of the proprietors. Their special touches show their thoughtfulness and experience. Efficient bookings of cabs and restaurants made things so easy for us. A gracious welcome with refreshments and abundance of local information made us feel comfortable. Bus stop was very convenient for getting into Edinburgh. The rooms were excellent, clean and comfortable, breakfast was very good, staff very helpfull with information on places to eat and things to do. The little extras like complimentary glass of wine on arrival, sweets and sherry in room were unexpected but very welcolme. The free parking and excellent bus service was a bonus, only five minutes into Edinburgh.A fabulous place to stay with very friendly staff. Took my wife for a surprise as it was her 30th birthday and the even produced a card and box of chocolates even though I hadn't mentioned this at the time of booking. Expecially liked the complimentary beer after a long drive up on Friday night plus the complementary Tunnocks bars!!. We received a great welcome with an excellent level of service. The room was exceptional. We loved the double glazing and couldn't hear anything outside. Just wished we had arrived earlier in Edinburgh to enjoy the sights more and the fantastic accomodation.The hotel advertised itself as a 5 star facility - it more than lived up to its billing - better than most hotels we've stayed with + we travel a lot. The owners especially were really helpful and friendly - a credit to Edinburgh and Scotland. Well worth paying a bit more for this guesthouse can’t fault it. the owners where very helpful.
